AIBU to leave DH on the sofa?

He has form for drinking too much and snoring like a beast. He's currently flat out on the sofa snoring very loudly.

We are on 'holiday' (read UK and far harder work with 2x DC than it should be), he's been like this on a couple of nights in bed and I'm so tired from poor sleep, let alone the kids early starts and long days.

WIBU to leave him fully clothed on sofa to sort himself out when he wakes in a few hours? I'm fed up of it quite frankly and I need to get to sleep in bed before he comes along!

Hope you're in bed by now catching at least a couple of hours of peaceful kip

He's found his way to bed, snoring has started.... I got a few hours at least! Sad

What an alky twat.
Why on earth are you still with a pisshead like him?

violetbunny · 14/08/2021 03:36

I'd boot him back to the sofa.

HarebrightCedarmoon · 14/08/2021 03:42

DH has left me on the sofa a few times if I looked fast asleep and comfortable. I don't see what the potential drama is. I've just woken in the early hours and thought "Oh!" and came up to bed. Wasn't even particularly that I'd had a skinful, sometimes I've been so exhausted that one glass of wine knocked me out and I should have gone to bed but couldn't be arsed to move!

I once left my OH spread-eagled on the drive, he'd been so drunk he couldn't get out of the car without crawling, he was there for an hour or so, it was a warm evening, I certainly couldn't have got him up. Served him right, the only thing that bothered me was if someone saw him and called an ambulance but no-one walks round here after 9.

Thanks everyone, this isn't a one off by any stretch of the imagination, but it has prompted a much deeper conversation this morning about his weight, his drinking, our relationship and lack of intimacy.

So thank you all for the back up last night. I'm shattered, again, but I feel like something hit home this morning after we spoke.

You are not in the least unreasonable! Night sweats like that are not a healthy sign BTW. Kidney may be under pressure. Needs to step back a bit from the gargle.

MatildaTheCat · 14/08/2021 15:07

For the meantime invest in some wax earplugs from the pharmacy, they do a great job of blocking snoring. Not so much the sweating unfortunately.

goldpendant · 14/08/2021 15:12

Interesting @Abhannmor - the sweating has apparently been a thing his whole adult life. His dad and brother are the same.

can you roll him over, and does the snoring stop?

goldpendant · 14/08/2021 15:21

Rolling him helps a little.
