Am I being overly clean or him sloppy

2nd baby due in a few months. So I've put away lots of stuff (car seat, pram etc) in the garage. We've noticed stuff getting mouldy in the garage. I said to DP I'll keep the fabrics off the equipment indoors and then pressure wash the frames prior to use when newborn is here.
DP thinks I'm being over cautious, I think he's being sloppy
Who is being unreasonable?

Would stuff be better in the loft if you have one

Chikapu · 13/08/2021 19:53

Does he really want your baby to have mouldy stuff? I'd move it somewhere else tbh.

Anon359 · 13/08/2021 19:55

He's now saying he's happy with fabrics indoors but thinks pressure washing is overkill

I don't think pressure washing is necessary, just a good clean with anti bac

I wouldn’t put new stuff in a mouldy garage full stop.

Samafe · 13/08/2021 20:03

I would not keep the car seat in a moldy space, once you remove the fabric there is a lot of styrofoam exposed and you cannot really clean that if it is stinky.

beigebrownblue · 13/08/2021 20:13

Him.
You are being prudent and economical.
If stuff gets mouldy, you would hopefully want to, buy new.

TempName01 · 13/08/2021 20:27

Definitely keep the fabrics inside but I would just bring it all in, the last thing you want is having to wash and assemble a car seat, you might have to rush to hospital when you go into labour. You could even keep it in the car as you get nearer your due date.

NoSquirrels · 13/08/2021 20:33

Don’t store any of the baby stuff in the garage.

It’ll have to clutter up your house soon enough, may as well be now. Letting it get mouldy would be silly.

alltheemptyfields · 13/08/2021 20:39

I'd bin anything that has mould personally.

And wouldn't store anything in the garage any longer as it's clearly not suitable.
