Is this too far from a hospital?

We are moving house from central london to a quieter more rural place. I just started thinking about not having the immediate access to hospitals and GPs and wondered what a "normal" time to get to an A&E would be for most people. At the moment we are 10 mins drive / 15 mins walk from some top hospitals. When we move it will be a 25 minute drive to the nearest A&E. Is that a reasonable distance?

I know what you mean OP, I am about the same distance away from our nearest hospitals and after being in London it seems such a long way away especially as I don't drive.

I wouldn't want to be further away tbh.

Do you have a particular issue where you need quick access to a&e?

It's not something that even crossed my mind when house hunting.

@Pantene23

You could live in a city and it take longer than that to drive to a&e due to traffic.
Absolutely - I live in London and since they reduced our local hospital (5-10 mins away) to minor injuries only, I'm a good 25-30 mins from the nearest A&E.

I live over an hour away from a hospital more like 1.15 at certain times. did it in 45 minutes in the middle of the night whilst in labour speed limits were not kept, just made it in time

25 mins is very close! I used to live in mid Wales and was over an hour from A&E and major hospitals. There was a minor injuries closer, many babies born along tbe route to hospital over the years!
