To think that trampoline park socks are a scam??

Persuaded by my DCs to take them to a trampoline park last week - a chain we haven't been to before. We have trampolining socks (many pairs), but not from this chain.

I was expecting it of course, but after a fruitless argument with the receptionist who assured me that they cannot guarantee that anyone else's trampoline socks are safe, and that of course I will have to buy their branded trampoline socks. So we now have more of the feckers which will only be used once but of course can't be given back to be washed and reused by someone else.

AIBU to think this is a massive scam??

Why bin them? They can be worn again just as normal socks.

Yeah, it is very irritating. I’m not sure whether every trampolining chain does this but I know Gravity do and I can’t see any reason for it other than making more money.

Well, why do you think these places exist? To make as much money as possible. If enough people think it's a rip off and don't use it, prices will come down. It's not an essential service where they have you over a barrel, so walk away if it's poor value for money.

our trampoline socks are £2 but you can swap another parks sick for free. Was it the Ascent brand?

They are a total scam. My son used to do trampolining and they literally used normal socks 🙄
