Fly spray

AIBU in thinking this stuff is really toxic and should not be in a house with young toddlers and kids who have breathing issues. Even if in another room with door shut as door will obviously be opened to go in and out to get things. Im talking slow release 90 days, flies constantly falling from the ceiling type stuff. Can't decide if i can let kids go to this house or not any more as they are both very sensitive and its a build up so wouldnt notice issues straight away.

Who actually needs fly spray? Apart from people hiding dead bodies?

Morechocmorechoc · 08/08/2021 20:46

Apparently my dad in his conservatory which is where we eat!

Well it isn’t pleasant, but if it were toxic to human beings it wouldn’t be sold in supermarkets.

You’re joking right? I mean supermarkets sell tons of stuff that is highly toxic for humans?!

Morechocmorechoc · 08/08/2021 20:58

Thats what I thought but then when I read the chemicals they have to call out on the label and looked them are it states causes skin and eye irritation and lung irritation and shouldn't be used in investigation area or for prolonged time

In which case you wouldn’t use most cleaning products.
Mydogisagentleman · 08/08/2021 21:04

I don’t have fly spray, I have several fly shatters.
I would be interested in a sticker that brings down flies without intervention.
I would certainly have one in my kitchen. Flies drive my dog doolally

Mydogisagentleman · 08/08/2021 21:04

Swatters, not shatters

Morechocmorechoc · 08/08/2021 21:05

They are too high to reach. We don't use chemical when cleaning except detol and I do it when kids are out and open door.

Check the label

DismantledKing · 08/08/2021 21:07

I think that you might want to work in your anxiety

DismantledKing · 08/08/2021 21:07

*on your anxiety, obviously

RedHelenB · 09/08/2021 06:25

Wow! That is really not a reasonable stance, never even cleaning when you're children are around What's going to happen if you do do you think?

Morechocmorechoc · 09/08/2021 07:39

I do clean! There are products that don't have harmful chemicals. If I spray detol around one of them they literally can't breathe. Some kids have breathing issues, clearly something you're lucky to not be familiar with RedHelen. Even had to stop wearing deodorant and perfume. That's life sometimes. This was a serious worry I was hoping someone with kids with similar problems may be able to help me with. I don't have anxiety Dismantled, just kids with problems

I’m in Western Australia and fly spray is a life essential here but I wouldn’t use the constant release stuff. Absolutely everything would be coated in an anticholinesterase always.

I prefer to spray, kill and wipe up if necessary

Morechocmorechoc · 09/08/2021 09:39

Yeah that's the thing it must just end up on everything! I remember days in Perth, lovely place to live
