Friends comments on 16 month olds eating habits?

My 16 month old will only eat foods mixed together for instance chicken dinner she'll only eat if everything is mixed together and cut up very very small.

But things like chicken nuggets & chips and hoops she'll eat seperate.

Should she be eating more normally by now?

She sometimes has a fussy week where she won't eat much of anything but other than that she's a pretty good eater. A friend passed comment on her still eating like a 'baby' and it's worried me 😳

I usually only hear of children "not" eating foods mixed together. My dd refused to eat food that was touching on a plate and as a teenager is one of the most picky individuals I know...I would have given my right arm for her to sit down at any age and eat food mixed together...
So long as your lo has a good balanced diet I really wouldn't concern yourself with someone who speaks for no other purpose than saying somethingWink

My first preferred one pot meals like bolognese, shepherds pie, chilli

Great way to get veg in

She eats a fantastic variety! I think because it's all mixed together, But I just don't know how to get her onto eating seperate foods on a plate kind of thing. Will this just come to her over time?

Can you tell she's my first 😂

If she's happy and eating well then carry on doing what you're doing. Ignore negative comments from unhelpful friends.

(My DS is 8 and still has bedtime milk out of a sippy cup. I don't care. He's happy. I'm happy. The end.)

I like my food all mixed too. And 16 months is still pretty much baby.
I think easier to handle than when food mustn't be touching.

She is a baby, for goodness' sake! Ignore all comments except from health visitor or GP.

Anyone who offers their opinion uninvited on your childrearing or anything, really, should get, "You think so? Interesting," in a voice that sounds completely uninterested.

I can’t think why she felt compelled to comment. Your child is a good eater, be pleased.

If she's eating her dinner, I wouldn't be worried if it's mixed together or not. I'm not sure why your 'friend' felt the need to comment. You sound like one of the lucky mum's who hasn't got a picky eater on their hands 😉👍🏼
