House viewer taking photographs of our rented property

We were served 6 month notice by our landlord and house is currently on the market. We can't afford to buy (house very overpriced anyway) so we will be moving. Although it is not yet 2 months prior to our end of contract date we have been flexible and allowed house viewings. Our house sitter informed me that someone who viewed the house was taking photographs. The estate agent has not asked if we are OK with this and I am unhappy that this has taken place, I feel it is an intrusion of our privacy.

AIBU to complain to estate agent and tell them I do not give consent for this to happen or is this something I should just expect and should just live with it for the next 3 months.

YANBU - write them an email removing my consent for photographs to take place
YABU - suck it up, it's what house viewers do

It’s quite outrageous really, all benefits the landlord and estate agent while the tenant has strangers traipsing through their home. Of course they wouldn’t give notice and do vacant viewings as it would lose them money.
Much better to take full rent and continually inconvenience the tenant.

This feels like it's getting a bit silly now. Someone who wanted to abduct a child could find out all of those things at a physical viewing without needing to take any photographs at all. Estate agent listings will give you all the photos you need of kids' bedrooms, plus handy floorplans. Stopping viewers from taking photographs won't prevent them seeing a schoolbag or school photo if they're in the house.

The thread has gone off topic a bit - buyers taking photos is pretty standard, for many sensible reasons already mentioned. Tenants preferring that photos not be taken is also not that uncommon.

Child stealers posing as proceedable buyers and taking photos to help them with a kidnapping heist, on the other hand, are much rarer.

Just refuse viewings op, you're under no obligation to allow them

I would also just refuse viewings from now on. No obligation to allow them whatsoever.
