Men suffered too?!

Argh. Second trimester and still vomiting but what's worse is the nausea. Nausea. I'd rather have sepsis again for a week than feel nauseous.

I was nauseous for entire pregnancy with my son and vomiting reduced after 20 weeks, but nausea never ever went.

I'm just so annoyed they can not tell women WHY. They think it might be HG. Might be this, might be that. Fuck off. What is it then?!

That should say 'they think it may be a reaction to hCG

I had nausea all through the pregnancy with my son and every subsequent one although I miscarried those all . When I was put on progesterone while doing ivf I discovered why , it was the progesterone that made me incredibly nauseous . It was hell and once I came off it it eventually went away . I now have a Mirena coil and initially was worried about getting the nausea again but apparently with a small continuous dose I’m ok .

Also a dose that’s not going through my digestive system like the gyno said .

Men suffer from a lot of horrible conditions which are not curable . It's a bit flippant to say "if men got xyz condition there would be a cure by now" when that isn't the case at all.

Henrysmycat · 07/08/2021 03:43

Wasn’t thalidomide used for this but went horrible wrong?
I had extreme morning (actually all day) sickness it was so dilapidating.

ZealAndArdour · 07/08/2021 03:48

Yes, thalidomide was used for this, but it isn’t anymore and there are several safe anti-emetics to be taken in pregnancy. That’s not really the point though.

I'm on a few different meds, one of which being Ondansetron with a small link to cleft lip. Although a very popular solution to treating severe sickness in pregnant women.
Had to really fight my case with two separate male GP's. Finally given my wish by a lovely female GP Hmm

The men insisted I try something milder first. When I insisted it didn't work with my son they insisted every pregnancy was different. But the consultant I saw with my son advised a plan of action medication wise with what worked for me with DS. For any future pregnancies

But are those conditions limited to men only? Can you list some examples?
