Ideas for a 3 year old’s birthday?

Posting here for traffic

I want to do some kind of birthday party for him. He’ll be 3 in mid October.
We have a very small house, so having a tea party/kids party at home is pretty much out of the question. We don’t have a garden either.
We can’t really afford to hire out a hall or soft play.

Any ideas are welcome!

Local park?

For ds’ 3 rd birthday we took some of his friends to a local children’s farm. Not sure if that’s within budget?

Or as pp said, a local park - you can do a picnic, they can play and maybe do a few games? We did this for one birthday party and it worked well - set up an gazebo if you can borrow one?

A treasure hunt in the woods. One adult runs ahead and the kids find bags of party food en route as part of the treasure. Party games along the walk.

I was thinking park, but because it’s mid October worried about weather!

Do you have a friend with a larger house?

Have you actually looked at the cost of hiring a hall; this is cost of the local one to me;

“Hire charges are £4 per hour from 9am to 6pm and £7 per hour from 6pm to 11pm. There is a minimum 2 hour hire period and a £50 refundable deposit is required at the time of booking.”

Even if you booked for 3 hours to give yourself time to set up and clean up- it’s only just over a tenner.

Tesco often has a room for community events.

A hotel near us has a free room if you pay for a very reasonable buffet.

I’ll look into the hall idea. I’m worried I’ll book a hall and no one will turn up! Sad

I was thinking outdoor teddy bears picnic at the park if it’s dry, even if a bit wet on the ground we could look at getting a marquee and putting some mats down on the floor.
Can you put a marquee up on public land?

I mean gazebo really, not marquee, wrong word..

Church hall, balloons. Any entertainment will be superfluous to the balloons.

A three year old doesn't need a party, honestly don't spend money you don't have. At that age a party is more for the parents. Plus a gazebo in the park in mid October with mats on the ground sounds, well it doesn't sound good and that's if it even stays dry.

Have a lovely day taking him to a farm/adventure playground/soft play and get a nice cake for home. Spread out his visits for presents if you can't have everyone who wants to come at once.

Save for a party when he's older and will actually look forward to and be excited about a party with his friends

Museum? For my daughter's 3rd birthday she wanted to go to "Andy's museum with the bones" so we got the train to the Natural History museum in London.
