Day out between Bristol and Poole

We'll be travelling from South Wales to nearby Poole. Don't want to get to Poole until the evening so looking for somewhere en route (or not too far off) to go for a day out. We have a 4 year old and 18 month old. We've got Bristol Zoo or The Wild Place as back up options but I don't know what there is further south than that. Thanks!

And if coming to Poole from Swanage, you can use the Sandbanks chain ferry, which is the best way to arrive in Poole!

We have done this journey and stopped at Hope nature centre in Trowbridge- it has some animals, play park and cafe. Perfect for the ages of your children
Durham park in Bath is also on the route or Bradford upon Avon near the canal for a walk and drink

The Tank Museum or Moors Valley Country Park (both very close to Poole)

Noah’s ark is not far from junction 19 of M5 - better then wild place/ Bristol zoo I would say.

Compton Abbas airfield is lovely to stop for a cup of tea and watch all the little planes taking off right in front of you.

You could try Honeybrook Farm, just outside Wimborne. Great for that age group. Kingston Maurward Animal Park is also good. Kingston Lacy as well. Although thinking on it, Moors Valley would probably be your best option.

Depends which route you take - it’s only half an hour from Poole so if the OP just wants to kill some time before arriving it’s convenient.
