First time posting in AIBU, so please be gentle...

I have a rash. It's mostly on my breasts, and is getting worse, inspite of OTC remedies. I've had it for a couple of weeks now.

I figured it was probably fine to get a professional to look at it, so phoned my GP. "It's a pharmacy problem. You need to come and see our pharmacist".

No problem at all. But... since covid, the pharmacy in the practice has been dispensing drugs through the window into the car park. So I query if there's a private place I can see the pharmacist. "No - just come up to the window and pull your top up."

AIBU in thinking that examining a woman's chest in a car park, on a busy high street, is really really not okay?

I think I'm going to stick to OTC remedies for a bit.

Just seems like another way for GP’s to get out of doing their jobs to me Hmm

Rest of the world has opened up but you can’t see your GP Angry

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 07/08/2021 09:20

Send a photo to the GP. I had to do that recently - hideous carbuncle thing on my face. For once I was v grateful for the mask when I had to go out.

I had pityriasis rosea that was covering my boobs during lockdown, it eventually spread all over my torso and back. I had the same thing trying to get a pharmacist to look at it. I went back armed with a photo to be told I needed to see the GP anyway.

deedeemegadoodoo · 07/08/2021 10:19

Is it underneath your breasts or across your chest?

Topseyt · 07/08/2021 10:28

I'd email saying that you are astounded they actually seem to be asking women to get their boobs out in public? In the car park.

I'd bet good money that a man wouldn't be asked to flash his cock and plums so publicly.

It doesn't happen like this enlightened mainland Europe...

You should be able to set up the phone to time delay photo mode. 3 seconds or 10 seconds

Sceptre86 · 07/08/2021 17:20

Just give your local pharmacy a ring and see if they are happy doing consultations in the consultation room. If they are then great, if not ring around other chemists or show a photo. Otherwise back to the gp.

Googling, I'm 99% sure that's what I have, ironically. And, yes, it has now spread to my back. It's only mildly annoying (it itches a bit under my sports bra when running) and sounds like there's nothing which can be done, so I'm erring towards ignoring it.

My daughter had pityriasis rosea

It started in a small area and once it began to spread, it went everywhere over 2 weeks. It itches.

Antihistamine - cetirizine is best for skin - keep the dose up. Nothing to be done but wait it out.

Sunshine is good for it so get in the sun when it shines.

grandmashotdoodlebugs · 07/08/2021 23:18

12 weeks she had it. Overnight it vanished !

LittleMG · 08/08/2021 08:30

Who are the 3% of people that think this is ok?!?!

DdJames · 08/08/2021 15:52

@Motorina @grandmashotdoodlebugs

Mine was so so itchy at times. When it first started I thought the herald patch was ring worm on the underside of my boob. I tried anti fungal cream which really irritated it. Then it spread over a period of a couple of weeks, took about 2 months to go completely. As you've said nothing to get rid of it, just the antihistamine for the itching.
