Hi guys since I was 14/15 years old I have been experiencing headaches it was really bad when I was younger but has improved over time which is great I still get them everyday on bad months or I won't get any for couple months or I might get 1 in a month.

I realised if I turn off the lights it helps
My headaches feel like an achey pain sometimes like an annoying pain sometimes I will feel throbbing pains now I feel the throbbing pains in my neck I'm not sure if this is a trapped nerve but I do have bad posture sometimes

Sometimes the headaches or more achy than a actual headache and sometimes I will get nausea but mostly I don't experience nausea with them

I did a MRI scan back when I was 14/15 btw I am 21 now they said all was good but then sent me another letter to do another one which I didn't get to do my GP said they wouldn't do that that's very weird. But didn't seem concerned

I booked a GP appointment and my doctor said she's not concerned seems like migraines but I have really bad health anxiety sometimes I just always think the worst

Sorry for my bad grammar feeding my son while typing 😩

If you have bad health anxiety then asking strangers on the internet to diagnose you is a really bad idea. It's a bad idea in any event tbh.

Seek a second opinion from a different GP if you're concerned.

@Lockheart thank you for your advice not asking for a diagnosis because you won't be able only a qualified doctor can

I'm asking for any advice of people who's gone through the same thing or people who suffer with migraines hun

I have a complex history of headaches and migraines. I have seen a neurologist about them and he said that headaches as a teenager that go away and come back in your 30s/40s is really common and part of the migraine trend. I've had brain and neck MRIs too.

Sounds completely normal for a migraineur. I get cervical migraines from my neck. The neurologist said the very best thing I could do for them was sleep on only one pillow. He was right, it's really helped.

Of it's any consolation, I've been diagnosed with arm migraines, which are really weird, yet not worrying from a medical.point of view. (Also diagnosed with vestibular migraine and occular migraine.) I have also taken a course of topirimate which helped a lot too.

People experience migraines in many different ways, so asking for experiences won’t really help you, OP. They also have many different triggers, from hormones to bright lights and some foods. You’ll need to work with a health professional to work out what causes yours, if they are migraines.

Keep a record of the headaches, how frequent they are, what they feel like, how long they last, and what pain relief they respond to (or not). Then see another GP, who should be able to advise. There are good treatments for migraine now.

If not migraine they could be caused by a neck problem especially if you have poor posture - ‘tech neck’ from looking down at devices can give you a headache as well as neck pain, so you could try working on that to see if it helps. But I am only making broad suggestions and you really need to see a doctor and push for help with this.

I have had similar. Diagnosed with migraines and bulging discs in my neck. I went to a spinal specialist for my neck symptoms (I had altered sensation in my hands and feet as well as pain). Later I was diagnosed with migraines - well in fact my migraines started earlier in life but changed in my late 30s. I was seen by neurology who said my symptoms suggested migraines. He said - which might reassure you - that because mine had been going on for over 18 months - that it probably wasn’t anything more sinister! Also he did a physical exam which was okay.
I was prescribed Amitriptyline to take which helped with my neck pain and also reduces the frequency and severity of the migraines. I also have a triptan for when they hit which usually helps to stop them getting so bad I can’t function.

Sounds like migraines to me. My partner gets almost exactly the same.

Started in her teens, gets them once a month like clockwork, usually gets them for two or three days running, very occasionally will skip a month. Dark room helps, migraine tablet generally knocks her out until it's gone.

They're hormonal so we can generally predict roughly when she's going to get them.

One thing that has helped is her getting a daith piercing. Has reduced the severity and shifted the pain to the other side of her head. She's going to get the other ear done in the next couple of months.
