To use a kegel machine?

NC for obvious reasons.

Since having my two DC my bladder control has got worse and worse. I also struggle with a lot of pelvic pain since pregnancy. Ive tried doing pelvic floor exercises for quite a while but the situation is getting worse instead of better!

Now at a point where I can't cough, sneeze, run ect without peeing and not just a little bit! So I'm thinking of buying one of the kegel machines that say they help tighten the muscles.
Has anyone used one and got any positive stories?

To be honest they say allow 12 weeks but I wasn't getting on with it

If you look at the reviews they are good though

I would go to a pelvic floor pt first and let them diagnose the issue. If you have an overly tight pelvic floor for example you might do more damage. You could ask them to recommend a device to suit your needs. Or refer you on if actually you need more help.
Don't be embarrassed about making an appointment, they literally do this every day.

See your dr and ask for a referral to a women's physiotherapist.

Hi op, have you recently given birth?

ActonSquirrel · 04/08/2021 20:10

No. Get referred for specific women's pelvic floor physio. Other wise you won't know if you're doing it correctly

I used one and had no difference, now I am saving up for the next three years to have it surgically fixed, it just isn't what it used to be and if I vomit I quite literally piss myself. We aren't having anymore babies and my husband has had a vasectomy so it seems like a logical solution x

Try bulkamid first? Not sure if the NHS funds it though. Worth asking

If you can, book in with a pelvic floor physio. They will be able to judge your pelvic floor. I have the Kegel 8. It is a medically recommended device and has different programmes depending on your need. It has definitely improved my insides, I use a few of the different programmes. Pelvic physios can even help you with a custom programme. Both things are worth doing imo.
