Teen kids on hols - rooms?

We are looking to book a holiday, have 3 teens (well 12,15 and 17) and we usually share a big family room/2 bed with one one the sofa. It's cramped and lacking in privacy. We have the option to instead book 2 x 1 bed apartments (hopefully next to each other!) and have the kids in one, us in another. Would you do this? Would it be frowned upon?

@Starbonnet123 thank you!

I'd get two one bedroom apartments. I wouldn't bother with a three bed as the teen on the sofa bed will get a double to the other's singles so it's fair enough. I find a sofa bed perfectly comfortable in my thirties so I don't see a teen being bothered.

I missed if they are boy/girl - if the same sex they could share the other bedroom in the two bed. Anywhere I've stayed (abroad) has been two singles, even when pushed together to make a double.

I think a teen would be fine to have a double sofa bed on their own. Let's face it, they aren't going to be living in the lap of luxury for the first few years of independent adulthood so once they're paying for their own holidays they'll be just going for the cheapest option anyway.

Are they mixed sex?
