Dog poo in their garden.

Hi all! Not sure what the point of this post is really but just went to vent.

Dh took dc to his mum and dads a couple days ago. They have 2 large dogs. We've been over there before and there's been dog poo all over their small garden they haven't picked up. So much so dh has done a it before. In laws are very able and capable to do it. They have grown up children at home who could do it too.

When they got home, I asked Dd if she had a good time. She did but said she wasn't allowed outside as no one picked any poo up and there was lots of it. I am glad she wasn't allowed on the grass obviously. I spoke to dh who said that it was true what she said. So Dd wasn't exaggerating. I am not sure why he didn't offer to do it, but it's not really his job to do so.

But aibu to be really bleddy annoyed? The visit was planned for a good week. So they knew they were coming. Surely they would pick it up first? There's 4 very capable adults in the house. Drives me mad.

The kids were stuck on the patio and park area which is quite small playing metres away from loads of dog poo.

We have a dog, we check the garden multiple times a day when the kids go out to play.

Aibu to think it's just pure laziness?

It generally puts me off letting them play on the grass even when it is picked up because little bits may remain.

They barely ever cut the grass either. I just get really annoyed. I couldn't have visitors over without picking it all up first. Think it's vile.

I have 2 dogs and pick up a few times a week so there's around 15 at a time, my garden is large and it really doesn't smell.

If I had a visitor I would not let them on the part of the garden the dogs poo in (the lawn not the other 60% of the garden)

My house is immaculate but I just can't get outside daily to pick the poo up, plus they are walked daily.

If my kids were small I would still not let them play on the lawn in that area even if the poos we're not there -

'I have 2 dogs and pick up a few times a week so there's around 15 at a time, my garden is large and it really doesn't smell'

15 🤢

Honestly, just pick up when they do a poo. Honestly why on earth wait. Your garden will indeed smell even if you conveniently don't notice it.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 03/08/2021 17:05

Ewwww!

Just say DC aren't going around again until they can sort out the dog shit issues.

DinosaurDiana · 03/08/2021 17:05

I wouldn’t be letting my kids go round to tnat

bjjgirl · 03/08/2021 17:05

My garden is around an acre, they do their business at the far end, I can't always get the time to go all the way down their during my working week (at the weekend I do it daily)

It really doesn't smell, you have to walk a fair way to get to it

MotionActivatedDog · 03/08/2021 17:09

One of our dcs went to their friends last week for a bbq, the dad merrily tossing burgers while there was piles of dog poo everywhere. It's just utterly revolting isn't it.

🤮🤮🤮🤮

What the hell is wrong with these people??

MotionActivatedDog · 03/08/2021 17:10

My dog does about 6 poos a day! If I didn’t lift it all as soon as she does it my garden would be unusable.

PanamaPattie · 03/08/2021 17:17

Poor dogs, having to tiptoe around piles of old poop to find a clean space to poo. They can’t get much exercise.

LST · 03/08/2021 17:22

@Esspee

I agree. Even if picked up no child should be playing where dogs have been shitting.
So no child with a dog should play in their garden?

Yes, my dog likes to run backwards and forwards in the garden several times before she decides on the best spot for a poo. Can't begin to imagine how she'd manage if there was poo everywhere.

@TheAwfuITruth

Ugh do people like this never use the garden themselves? Not to toilet in Grin but to sit, relax etc.

Can't imagine sitting out with a cup of tea, feet from piles of dog shite.

I was given so much grief on here last week for using 'toilet' as a verb. 🤣
MaMelon · 03/08/2021 17:32

Yep, it’s disgusting and lazy in the extreme. Our (lovely) NDN are better at picking up now they have DCs but prior to that (after they’d moved in) the shit used to sit on the grass for ages in various stages of decay and mushiness. It was revolting.

Bigassbeebuzzbuzz · 03/08/2021 17:39

Ndn does this just leaves it for ages and let's the grass grow really long then I hear them playing hunt the dog shit before they mow.
Bizzarly they then leave the little bags of pooh piled up in the garden, next to the bin.

StoneofDestiny · 03/08/2021 17:51

OMG - dog poo everywhere, bluebottles to follow, maggots to follow - their poor neighbours! No way would my DC be going there. Gross.

Darbs76 · 03/08/2021 18:19

I find it gross too. I pick it up straight away in my garden. Occasionally might miss one but I soon see it. In winter I might leave it a day or so if very wet but I prefer to do it daily

StoneofDestiny · 03/08/2021 18:48

I forgot - smell 😱
