To think it’s best they don’t come

We’ve all had Covid dd’s isolation ends the 2nd of august. My mum and her partner were due to come down and see us on the 4th august. Aibu to tell them no due to the Covid situation? Is it highly likely my dd could still pass it to them? Both are double vaccinated for reference.

If they’d blame you I’d definitely put them off Op, or make it very clear that the decisions is entirely theirs

@HighDudgeonAtBerks thanks!

Yes OP if they'd blame you I'd either put it off or make them sign a disclaimer.

I wouldn't risk it TBH, a week maybe but 2 days, I'm not convinced they won't catch it

Moneytootight78 · 30/07/2021 21:34

They keep saying they want to still come but to be honest I’m edging more to just saying please don’t come. It’s for my daughter’s birthday she’s 16 so they would want to be there.

They would be in the garden if the weather is alright if that makes any difference

We all have Covid now, we cancelled our trip to see family next week, not risking it as i still feel terrible 2wks on and don’t want to risk giving it to my mum (all double jabbed but it’s still been awful)

Darbs76 · 30/07/2021 21:39

Also no point doing a test again as you can show positive for 90 days.

Babynames2 · 30/07/2021 21:45

DH had Covid a couple of weeks ago. MIL wanted to visit the day after his isolation ended. We did warn her that me or either of the DDs could be asymptotic positive then. I did a lateral flow anyway to be sure but near impossible to properly test on the DDs (both under 3). We just warned her and said it was completely up to her as we couldn’t guarantee that our DDs didn’t have it. She chose to come anyway.

Moneytootight78 · 30/07/2021 21:48

We’ve all tested positive now so these no else to catch it if that makes sense.

90 days... wow .. I did not know this ... 🌸

Moneytootight78 · 30/07/2021 23:05

I’ve heard of both outcomes some testing negative at the end of isolation and others still testing positive a month or so after so I would say they are u reliable
