Neighbour has stolen my clogs

MongoAkimboAGoGo · 30/07/2021 08:26

I had a decorative pair of clogs outside my front door and this morning they have disappeared and a pair of old trainers put in their place. I only have 3 neighbours - I messaged the one I thought had done it saying “haha great joke, can I have my clogs back now and you can have your trainers back” and she read the message, put a laughing face on it but never replied. I went around kept it friendly, said my kids had found it very amusing but seriously, can I have them back now and she made out she didn’t know what I was talking about but was clearly trying to hold in laughter. I just want them back. I never found it funny to begin with, I was just trying to stay light hearted but I’m getting annoyed now.

Have you never heard of a plant pot?

I asked a question, I didn't understand what was meant by "they are pot"

To me, it was as if half the sentence was missing, my first thought they were made of wood, so I didn't occur to me the OP was referring them as being made of pottery

Thank you to all the pleasant posters who answered what the OP meant by her post.

TheSunShinesBrighter · 30/07/2021 10:33

@starrynight87

How unfunny.
Agree.

Applies to some of the posts on this thread too.

Try not to worry OP.

yellowsubmarines · 30/07/2021 10:33

OP does that neighbour have children or young children still at home? If your children are finding her pranks hilarious maybe she is doing it to amuse and interact with them? Does she do these pranks with any of the other neighbours?

My neighbours have a metal cat in a tree in their garden, that I noticed last week, it definitely used to be mine, God knows when I last saw it in my own garden!!

Shock Are you one of the OP's other 2 neighbours or is there another 'prankster neighbour' about?

I wouldn't like anyone messing with my things. I would find it all really annoying OP.

MysweetAudrina · 30/07/2021 10:34

Father's Christmas trousers just finished me off. I think she seems like an amusing neighbour. It's not causing any harm and her pranks are mildly funny.

Fair enough.
On a thread where so many are taking the piss out of someone who is clearly upset it’s hard to work out who is asking genuine questions and who is just goading the OP further by asking irrelevant ones.

Hoppinggreen · 30/07/2021 10:39

I bloody hate “pranks”
You should only do them if you know the other person will find it equally as funny as you do, otherwise it’s basically bullying

Kalvinette · 30/07/2021 10:41

Thus is Classics material. Also read it as your dads Xmas trousers. Just reprank her.

WellErm · 30/07/2021 10:41

Pranks are for unpleasant people..... Luckily never been at the receiving end of any from adults. That's just weird. Very very weird.

NotSorry · 30/07/2021 10:41

@TheSunShinesBrighter

thanks for your reply, I wasn't taking the piss

OP, hope you get sorted - I would hate a neighbour like this

Kalvinette · 30/07/2021 10:42

Prank call her pretending to be the police

Sounds like the pair of you would get on great if the thought of her pulling Santa’s trousers down ‘finishes you off’.

A meeting of minds.

Just do us a favour and stay away from the rest of us.

Mamamia7962 · 30/07/2021 10:52

Right there, a little mouse with clogs on .........

DogsSausages · 30/07/2021 10:52

She sounds a bit bored and pathetic, maybe it's to amuse the kids, how old are the DC, are they old enough to tell her to stop messing with their things. Just put the trainers on her doorstep and try not to let the silly tit wind you up.

Funny to you Not to OP
Bumblecattabbybee · 30/07/2021 10:53

@Nocutenamesleft

It’s theft

Ring the police now. She’s taken something off you.

Or just be firm and say. You’ve got 24 hrs to replace them. If they aren’t back within the time frame I will be contacting the police.

Hahahahahahaha

Imagine phoning the police and saying "My neighbour replaced the decorative clogs in my garden with a pair of old trainers!"

😂😂😂

OhRene · 30/07/2021 11:00

This would piss me off. Practical Jokes are funny if both parties find them funny, otherwise it's bullying behaviour. I agree with others "It was just a laugh!" Is an excuse trotted out by dickheads who like the power of making others feel upset. Making them a victim.
And it's shit, no matter if it's a pair of pilfered pottery clogs or a defaced Christmas display.

OP, put your serious face on and get her told. Let her know that it's not fucking funny and she needs to leave your shit alone as it's just making her look like a prize twat.

messybun101 · 30/07/2021 11:00

@AfterSchoolWorry

😂

Call the boys in blue
She stole my wooden shoe!

Or two!

Grin
MongoAkimboAGoGo · 30/07/2021 11:00

Well I’ve just got back from gym and the trainers have gone. Still no sign of the clogs

OP posts:
Kalvinette · 30/07/2021 11:02

Okay well now I've tipped over into not finding it funny now that shes removed the trainers but not replaced the clogs

Annoy · 30/07/2021 11:05

@HerMammy

No wonder the police are stretched if ppl call about stupid things like this.
🙄
SpiderinaWingMirror · 30/07/2021 11:06

Super glue her manky trainers to her car, it's all bants innit?

messybun101 · 30/07/2021 11:07

I think there's another prank coming your way. Clogs in a tree or something

Can't stop laughing at Father Christmas' trousers. I really thought she'd escalated to pulling down your dads trousers and was definitely BU if so
