How would you feel if he said this to you?

We have been dating for a while and the build up to sex was immense! I thought it would be out of this world and I believe he did too. It was in fact awful! I think we both know this. He then calls me to organise a day to see each other again and says 'we can make up for Thursday'.

How would you feel about this?

He messaged me shortly after and said he meant him and not me.

As others have said he's acknowledging the fact that it wasn't great, nothing wrong with that.

Maybe you were both expecting too much.

It's not unusual that the first time a couple have sex it can be a bit awkward and not great.

He sounds realistic and sensible and his follow up message shows he's concerned that you didn't think he was blaming you.

I'd smile at those message and look forward to getting to know him better.

As pp said, you'd be in more trouble if he thought it was great.

Sounds good to me. Tbh, people who can't discuss sex really shouldn't be having it.

At last an honest response to first time sex, I’d be chuffed w8th this, it shows he cares wants to make things much better next time.
