Ok. Picture the scene..

If you test positive for covid19 on, say, July 1st. You isolate as you should for 10 days.
You have a holiday booked for 30th July but the holiday company or airline want a negative test result before you go BUT the gov website states that if you test within 90 days of being positive you will get a false positive result. What are you supposed to do?!

What happens if you test positive while you are in resort? presumably you test after isolation but it won't be negative, will it?
Could someone please explain it to me using short words Confused

OH wants to book to go away for a few months time but I just cannot get past what if this scenario occurs?! AIBU to be stressing over it?

Good luck!
I dont even think the government will have the answer to that.
They are clueless, and expect us to follow the wonky rules

You can get a recovery certificate if you’ve had Covid in the last 90 days. We all have it now and are thinking of having a week abroad in august, so I’ll be getting us one of those

Yes! I thought this too.. Jet2 website though says this.. (it was the canary islands I clicked on)

Please note, COVID-19 recovery documents aren’t acceptable for travel and you won’t be able to board if you try to use one instead of proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result.

Does anyone have a bloody clue these days

Darbs76 · 26/07/2021 14:18

@pepsicolagirl - ah ok. I’ve not looked into it fully yet. I’m double jabbed too so will have proof of that. But as you know can test positive for 90 days, they can’t keep you in Spain for 90 days until you test negative. I’ll do some more research

If you do get an answer would you mind reporting back? I feel like I am going round in circles.

I am double jabbed so going out should be ok as it appears to be a neg test OR the covid pass (which you can get on the app on your phone or by letter off the website in case anyone needs it) but to come home you need that neg test which potentially is going to be impossible until months later

Yes I’ll let you know if I find out more. I was looking at the jet2 site you linked to and Greece had antigen test as a requirement so maybe going to have to choose location based on who accepts what. I’ll do some digging whilst laid up on the sofa (day 11 now and counting darn Covid). We have 3 of us who could still test negative, a friend told me about the recovery certificate but maybe it’s not that straight forward.
