Boden, John Lewis, Hobbs, LK Bennett, - but mostly those brands second hand from charity shops

And occasionally TK maxx…

Lookdeepintotheparka · 22/07/2021 21:19

Yy TK Maxx and John Lewis sales. Designer outlets.

Also eBay (when sellers aren't trying to charge silly prices!)

coodawoodashooda · 22/07/2021 21:25

The market.

Nsky · 22/07/2021 21:41

Normally ebay

AnUnoriginalUsername · 22/07/2021 21:44

I love H&M, but I'm mostly about comfort tbh

BackforGood · 22/07/2021 21:47

Charity Shops

toolazytothinkofausername · 22/07/2021 21:52

Charity shops Grin Fat Face, Joules, Boden...

Item cost ranges from £1-3.

I don't always find items, but when I do it's great Smile

purpledagger · 22/07/2021 22:00

Ebay - I buy lots from eBay, brand new with tags. A boden dress £20 down from £80 and kurt Geiger boots £40 down from £200, for example. I buy items made with jersey/stretchy material so I know they will fit.

Tk maxx - normally go for the homeware like water bottles, bedding etc. I also buy gifts from there, scented candles, toiletries, charging cables etc.

Sales - I buy my children's clothes and underwear the next size up at end of season sales eg Next, Sainsbury's 25% off clothing.

GCrebel · 22/07/2021 22:02

Brand Alley for designer brands - it's an online outlet.

I buy basics like underwear & t shirts in M&S, JL, Zara, next or Uniqlo, then splurge on more expensive, quality top layers. One of my mantras is to buy quality and not labels though. My second is to look at the materials garments are made from. Good lambswool for example can be better than cheap cashmere.

roses2 · 22/07/2021 22:06

Ebay + charity shop. I normally pay 20% of retail price for high end high street items. I'm slowly replacing all the cheap H&M clothes with high end high street items

Eg on ebay and charity shop I've found (all for less than £10 Inc postage)

  • Cos dress
  • Calvin Klein night dress
  • Massimo Dutti blazer
  • Michael Kors winter wool coat
  • Ann Taylor Silk dress
  • lots more

Bicester Village

MyDcAreMarvel · 22/07/2021 22:25

Ebay and charity shops for quality brands , sometimes my local outlet village.

LivingLaVidaCovid · 23/07/2021 06:26

Uniqlo and john lewis sales.

I cant be doing with ebay. A load of faff, you cant tell what the fit will be like, caveat emptor and not that cheap.

Auntienumber8 · 23/07/2021 07:17

Outlet village
I often buy clothes on holiday obviously that’s out of the question currently.
.

Member589500 · 23/07/2021 07:25

Not ebay if you’re on a budget unless you have a very clear idea of how something will fit. You’ll make too many mistakes. No returns.
I only rebuy things I already have, maybe in different colours.
Rather than brands I’d pick a basic colour palette. Don’t buy prints. Good bag and shoes. Look after the clothes.
Agree. It’s all about fabrics. Uniqlo good for many basics.

Lndnmummy · 23/07/2021 07:28

Brandalley,cos,uniqlo,Bicester village mainly

Dryadia · 23/07/2021 07:45

If I find a brand/item I like the look of I set up item searches on ebay to go to my email.

I also save any sellers I like the look of, with a note listing what type of item or clothing they sell.

EmpressWitchDoesntBurn · 23/07/2021 07:46

I furnished a lot of my new flat from charity shops - British Heart Foundation furniture shops in particular.

Piffle11 · 23/07/2021 08:40

H&M. I’ve just bought two pair of trousers and two little tops for £27 as there’s a sale on. Even without the sale, I think their prices are very good and the quality is also very good. Free delivery and returns, join the members programme and you collect points and get discounts too. I think they do basics really well.

21Bee · 23/07/2021 08:45

John Lewis, specifically Somerset by Temperley, Oliver Bonas and the White Company. I do but things on eBay but I know what suits me. With Somerset for example I know how their dresses fit so can easily buy dresses.
