Stephen Yaxley-Lennon aka the above, lost, his libel case against the Syrian schoolboy after vile false claims he published about him. GOOD. I hope he loses his house like Katy Hopkins. Vile speaders of lies and hatred, both of them. Serve them both right.

OP posts:

How come he represented himself? Where’s his right wing cash backers now?

He was very effectively deplatformed by the bans from twitter and Facebook.

Ever since he's lost most of his following/donations.

SisterBeaverhausen · 23/07/2021 11:11

I've met the man twice both times through work (different sectors of work but oddly enough they intermingled years apart) and honestly he's the biggest arsewipe I've ever met.

Self entitled, rude, extremely short. Oh and incredibly racist.

Couldn't have happened to a better man.

ChainJane · 23/07/2021 11:13

Why is it OK for people to refer to him as "Stephen Yaxley-Lennon" when he prefers to be known as Tommy Robinson? To me it's the same thing as me deliberately calling a transgender person by their birth name rather than their preferred name for the gender they identify as.

eg I have to say "Caitlyn Jenner" otherwise I'm a bigot and a transphobe. So why is it right to misname Tommy Robinson even if you don't agree with his activism?

pointythings · 23/07/2021 11:18

'Activism'? Well, that's a nice euphemism. He used his chosen name to hide his criminal history, so deserves no respect whatsoever. Comparing that to a transgender person living their real identity is disgusting.

Hoppinggreen · 23/07/2021 11:18

This case was local to me
Really good outcome but I doubt anyone will help him now, even the most ardent racists are backing away from The Twat now

really hope this is sarcasm
TotorosCatBus · 23/07/2021 11:20

Activism? Fucking hell.

Transgender people changing their name is like women taking on their husband's name upon marriage. Comparing it to someone who changed their name for nefarious reasons is fucking unacceptable.

Kellie Maloney has a criminal history of beating up and strangling women and changed his name. Do you still call him Frank?

Essentialironingwater · 23/07/2021 11:24

@ChainJane oh give over! I imagine Caitlyn Jenner is actually the legal name now, not the case with "Tommy" who uses it as an alias. And I don't think you'll find many MNers keen to call people transphobes anyway Hmm

OP, in complete agreement, fantastic news. I hope they manage to get substantial cash out of the maggot who has long profited from spreading hate.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 23/07/2021 11:26

You can call yourself what you like, as long as there's no intent to defraud. I'm no legal eagle but I'm pretty sure S Y-L has nefarious intent...

pointythings · 23/07/2021 11:28

LastSummerHere depends - there's no evidence to suggest that Tommy Robinson has officially changed his name by deed poll, whereas I would assume that Kellie Maloney has. If anyone can show me that S Y-L has indeed officially changed his name by deed poll, I'd be happy to use his preferred moniker. Whatever he's called, he's a racist twat who has been bitten on the arse by karma.

What's with all these people coming on here with whataboutery about other people who have done bad things? If you're Tommy fans and you think he's great, just admit it!

PandemicAtTheDisco · 23/07/2021 11:28

There was never any chance he could win. He had no evidence. He completely fabricated his racist propaganda against a victim of a group of well known school bullies. There was plenty of evidence against the bullies and nothing against the victim.

A clever man would have chosen a better target for his cause. A decent man would find a better purpose in life.

SpindleWhorl · 23/07/2021 11:31

He won't want to fundraise any money, I don't think. He won't want to give any money to the young man he libelled, and nor will his ghastly supporters.

I don't know where this leaves things (and I'm thinking the same about Dr Christian Jesson). At some point do they have to make a financial disclosure?

PandemicAtTheDisco · 23/07/2021 11:34

Would there be any point in him getting legal representation? He must have known he had no chance of winning. I wonder what steps he took to safeguard his assets.

Seymour5 · 23/07/2021 11:36

Great result.

2LostSoulsSwimmingInAFishBowl · 23/07/2021 11:45

According to the link up thread, his legal name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon. Not Tommy Robinson. He hasn’t changed it through the proper channels it seems.

I don’t get the name comparison thing between a racist convicted criminal and a trans person. Very weak argument. Calling what SYL does activism is just laughable. Unless you’re a racist yourself of course.

mbosnz · 23/07/2021 11:46

I call him Yaxley Lennon because I loathe and despise the racist bigot bully boy, and he prefers to be called Tommy Robinson. Petty? Yes, extremely. Grin

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 23/07/2021 12:00

@ChainJane
The named defendant in the case is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon not Tommy Robinson.

dameofdilemma · 23/07/2021 12:02

Great result. We need more of these.

Because Robinson is just his stage racist name and Yaxley Lennon is his legal racist name.

Can't see transgender people thanking you for drawing an equivalency.

ffs

Classica · 23/07/2021 12:04

and 'activism'?

Fucking hell.

He's a racist sewer rat.

IntermittentParps · 23/07/2021 12:15

I find it exquisite that a supposed advocate of free speech has a) mounted a libel case and then b) lost it.
For giving me that laugh, I thank the guy.
In every other respect, he is beneath contempt.

ChainJane, there is no equivalency between misnaming a trans person and 'misnaming' Stephen Yaxley-Lennon. For one thing, that is the name of the named defendant in this case.

DancesWithTortoises · 23/07/2021 12:16

I love a good news story.

OhGiveUp · 23/07/2021 12:18

He can call himself Princess Pea for all I care, he's still a despicable, nasty racist thug.

SionnachRua · 23/07/2021 12:22

I'm sure the judge was smiling on the inside when he handed down that judgement. What an odious little weasel (TR, not the judge).
