To ask for some low Fodmap family meals?

I'm shamelessly posting here for traffic as I have no what to make.

I'm having a ton of digestive issues at the moment (IBS and possible endo) so I'm trying to low FODMAP diet for a few weeks to see if it'll help and work out my triggers (definitely gluten but something else as well).

I've sorted lunches and breakfast, but I'm at a loss for family dinners, aside from jacket potato. If it's just me, then it's fine but I have a young family to take into account.

The fact that I have to eliminate stuff like garlic and onion isn't helping Confused kids are only 4 and 2 so I don't have a ton of cooking time, plus on a bit of a budget.

We usually have pizza, curry, spaghetti Bolognese type meals. What low Fodmap meals would work for a young family?

I’ve cooked for friends who are on a low-fodmap diet.
Things like low fodmap grains (e.g. quinoa) are good because you can use them in place of things like pasta or couscous.

If you like the taste of onions or garlic then chives can be used instead (they’re low fodmap).

I did the low FODMAP + introductions recently so hopefully I can help a bit.
I would be to join the private Fodmap UK Facebook page - in the files/photos there are copies of the booklets given out but dieticians about the diet, what you can and can’t eat, and reintroductions. From memory, the first or second one gives some recipes as well. There’s also a mine of info on the page - just search e.g. curry recipe. A lot of them recommend getting the Monash app (university in Australia that pioneered the diet, you do pay but it’s an invaluable guide to what you can and can’t have plus safe servings. I personally preferred the booklets as the format was easier but it’s up to you.
Morrisons does certified fodmap free range called Bays Kitchen - only in certain stores and never where you think they are (often near but not on the free from range) which are handy to cook so I’m having the green Thai curry one with chicken and brown rice, can have the tomato and basil one with gluten free pasta etc.
You can also get garlic and onion free stock cubes online through fodmarket.co.uk. This opens up other meals so you can e.g. make your own soup with these and low fodmap veg, other dishes may be: spag Bol (using meat, fried in e.g olive oil, chopped tomatoes, suitable veg, asafoetida powder (herb, mimics taste of onion, use a tiny bit though as v strong!), gluten free pasta and suitable cheese.
Make sure you check everything you buy and even if it doesn’t say garlic - if it says spices/herbs assume it has garlic in unless you or someone on the low FODMAP UK Facebook page have confirmed otherwise (and recently as they do change recipes).
I believe potato waffles are allowed so waffles/mashed potato with lactose free milk (check serving depending on type of milk as it varies) plus meat plus suitable veg is fine. Could make a roux sauce with suitable free from flour and gluten free pasta for macaroni cheese. Home made burgers are okay as long as recipe does not include FODMAPs e.g. not seasoning meat with garlic etc.
If you want to order in, McDonald’s burger with no bun and chips is okay or PizzaHut do a gluten free pizza base with garlic and onion free sauce (make sure you check with the restaurant to ensure they get it right as it’s obviously a bit more specialised than a standard pizza). Many other places will do something you can have - ring restaurants in advance, they’re usually very helpful.
Apologies for the long post, but I was there myself less than a year ago and I know how much it is to get your head around! I had a dietician privately over Zoom to go over it all with me but it’s not always possible for everyone I know. Hope this helps!

There is also a dietician she recommends, can't remember her name though - Lesley something... (sorry, will try and find it!)
