AIBU to be horrified by this company’s Facebook photos?

Somehow one of the photos from this company made it into my Facebook feed this morning, as a couple of friends had commented on it in horror.

They sell very expensive stylish baby stuff including this baby hammock and hammock duvet for newborns. These photos seem to be from their customers using the products and when I saw them I felt so panicked. One of the babies is literally asleep with their chin on their chest.

How is a company selling these and sharing photos like this in this day and age? Almost every post on their page has loads of angry reactions and links to safe sleep guidelines.

AIBU to think that sharing photos like this (and selling the items obviously) is so irresponsible? It normalises what is clearly unsafe sleep for those seeing them and many won’t know how dangerous this is.

All the comments on the Facebook post are negative, pointing out how dangerous the products are. They can’t possible sell anything.

That first picture! 😩 The baby looks in danger of suffocation. Really disturbing. Stupid, stupid products!

Alright…fess up

Who’s been spamming the Facebook page with all of the lullaby trust info? Grin

Yanbu OP. It’s terrifying how these are sold as “safe sleeping places” whilst in the same breath, “lullaby trusts recommend a sleeping place that is NOT this”

Is it mumsnetters that have commented in the last 2 mins?

Shocking but not sure if it’s much worse than wheeling a tiny baby around in a car seat attached to wheels. That’s just as dangerous. You see it all the time. So dangerous.

There was already lots of that when I saw it this morning altjough maybe more has happened since!

I would like to hear from those who’ve voted IABU - fair enough if that’s what you think, but I’m very curious about why?

Just awful. I’ve also had a FB ad popping up for a seatbelt support with a picture of a toddler wearing it without a car seat and the seatbelt looks twisted!

Nocutenamesleft · 17/07/2021 15:47

I had a baby hammock

Not from this company. My paediatrician recommended it. My daughter had such horrific reflux and dairy allergy. She would scream 20 hrs a day. Saved my sanity and she slept so soundly in it

I didn’t even know they were dangerous.

Nocutenamesleft · 17/07/2021 15:51

Bloody hell

My hammock was never this tiny! Mine was the size of a single toddler bed!

Oh wow. I can’t imagine a baby being able to not suffocate on one of these. This was nothing like the one my paediatrician recommended

I've just stumbled across this myself and it's SHOCKING!
