... when the rules seem to change every 5 minutes?

I understand those desperate to see family. But otherwise I don’t get why you would take the risk of getting your holiday canceled or have to spend £000s on quarantine as the bloody rules seem to change from day to day

@Iamsososoexcited

I am currently on board a flight...technical problem with the jetty. Once they have solved that...we will be taking off into the skies!!!
Have a fabulous time!

I’m currently in Greece and it’s amazing. My DH is double vaccinated and I’m not but we both bought all of the amber tests just in case the ruling changed. I had a nightmare with my test being registered under his name so that was stressful but the benefits of being abroad, amazing beach and hotel, delicious food and incredible weather well outweighs it.

We didn’t go anywhere last year not even the UK as we thought it was irresponsible and unnecessary but I didn’t care what anyone else did.

I hope everyone sneering remembers to thank us in the future when British airlines and holiday companies are still running as some of us took a small risk and booked with them.

Everyone has had a terrible time during Corona one way or another I don’t know why some people can’t understand others want a proper holiday!

I booked a holiday in lockdown 1 for June 2020 for something to look forward too. I paid a small deposit which I was willing to loose and asked copious questions about the cancellation/deferring policy. The company let me defer my balance payment date until The government announcement on red/amber/green lists. Even though we were amber list and could quarantine at home after I didn't want to risk it going red while we were there so I've delayed until next year. So far I have sent the travel agent 2 emails to sort this out so it's hardly been a hassle at all. Don't regret booking it for a second. Hopefully next year we will be able to go but if not will delay again.

We cancelled for this reason

People book abroad because they want to go abroad.
Don't believe what's on the newsreel or MN, since Mar 20 me and oh been abroad 3 times as a couple and oh been 6 times with work to u.s and eu. Neither times were difficult, more expensive etc. Nicer tbh as airports quiet

I take my hat off to you - I only managed two last year and one this year (so far). I'm clearly not trying hard enough!
@krystalweedon France allows double vaccinated Brits and kids in without an essential reason. For now.
Thanks @ImInStealthMode I didn't know that. It is so very tempting...but I would worry about something going wrong.
