New job requires white, pristine shirts.
How do I get them whiter than white? I have Vanish - doesn't work. Please tell me how you keep your whites white!
TIA

Never mix colours. That's it.

Biological washing powder - aerial powder. Not the gel or pods, old fashioned powder. The main reason it's been sidelined for gel & pods is because gel & pods take up less space on supermarket shelves - powder works well. Buy cotton shirts, wash ONLY with other whites at 40, dry in the sun. Once a month do them at 60.

A little drop of Ace Bleach (in the white bottle) always works a treat for me.

Test it on an inconspicuous area first, though.

Only ever wash whites with whites, whitener in the washing machine

RampantIvy · 17/07/2021 07:50

Any way of doing it with out keeping a 100% white wash?

I wash whites with sheets, as all of our bed sheets are white.

White towels? White face cloths? My washing basket is never empty. Don’t have to worry about any small washes here.

Nope. Don't have any of those. No white bedding or towels. Hate it! I was given a pack of white sleepsuits and 10 white muslins DC1 was small. I had a packet of Dylon out before they went near him. Turned them all a lovely emerald green.

Even a half load seems silly when it's just 5 age 3-4 polo shirts in a 9kg machine.

Shampoo is fab for collars!

icelollycraving · 17/07/2021 20:20

I have always bought enough uniform for twins (at least) Blush so always have full loads. Surely a large capacity will have a half load option or adjust the water according to the items?

DappledThings · 17/07/2021 20:56

I can't see a half load option. Might be one on the electronic display and I'll look next time it's on. But doesn't change the fact that my entire collection of all white items comes to about 1/5 of a load, nowhere near even a half load!

I did briefly consider buying some white towels in September just so we could make an all white wash up but realised that was ridiculous.

Wash whites with whites
Biological liquid
90 degree wash
TWO scoops of vanish crystal white

I know you say vanish doesn’t work but have you tried the crystal white version in combination with the above?
