1st world problem with cleaner

Besswess88 · 15/07/2021 07:59

Had cleaner since Feb this year and she/person who works for her has broken the second (brand new) steam mop.

Also won’t use our shark hoover, asked us to buy a Henry (I refused as the shark was brand new) and brings her own Henry.

If she is breaking my equipment (not general wear and tear), she should be insured to pay for this?

WWYD?

Aren’t the mops under guarantee?

Besswess88 · 15/07/2021 21:02

It was a Shark the latest and cost £150, not what I would call cheap shit.

The plug has been forced and snapped.

What has pissed me off is that she has just casually told me this morning when it clearly happened last week and she’s said “don’t buy that one again I will tell you which one to buy”!!

I also think Henry’s are shit and I asked her if she had insurance.

So it needs a new plug?

Take it back under warranty and get another one.

You're obviously not happy with your cleaner so get another one.

The water plug

Is it this cap ^ . Common fault with them

Besswess88 · 16/07/2021 05:47

No that is not the cap, and snapping it is a common fault?

Well, it has happened twice. You seem to really dislike this cleaner. It's obviously not a good fit so why don't you just stop using her and try a different one instead of posting about her every few months?

In terms of using her own equipment, I'd say most cleaners do that. I'm more than happy for mine to use whatever makes it easiest for them, as long as the job is done, who cares?

NeverRTFT · 16/07/2021 06:08

I would never ask my cleaner to fix damage. They don't exactly get paid loads and it's your home & contents so your job to insure. Accidents happen. And just because it broke when she used it, doesn't mean she's at fault. Sometimes stuff is just work out or crap or whatever.
This all sounds a bit mean spirited to me.

So it was two completely different steam mops which one of her workers has snapped the cap off one and snapped the plug on the other which we replaced that one with (it was a shark, really hard plastic plug which has been snapped),

That was an £150 steam mop. I have refused to replace it as it is clear brute force (and possibly not reading or being able to read the instructions as there is a language barrier) and she has declined me showing them how to use my equipment. She has replaced it with a £38 steam mop.

Today I was in when the two girls were here and they shouted at each other in their language for 2 hours while I am my son were both working from home (on the telephone) didn’t clean under the rug, didn’t take the chairs out from under the table, and didn’t do as good a job as when the lady herself was doing it, like the bannister hasn’t been done. I would actually prefer them to use my shark on my carpets not her Henry bit after seeing how the girl was being really rough with the new steam mop today maybe it’s best she isn’t let loose on my new Hoover.

I like her and I want to support her business but how do I nicely tell her that the girls ego are working for her aren’t doing the job as well
as she was!l? I am guessing other clients may notice the same?

Knickers to that. I'd ask her to replace the item they broke then I'd find a different cleaning company!
