Texted him earlier to say at the meeting I'd had at work I was offered a promotion. He had expected that but I hadn't.

He's come home in a grump, plonked himself in front of the TV and hasn't even said well done

Of course he should have congratulated you, but if my DH had come home upset on a day when there was such good news, I'd be worried not sulking. Unless of course this is usual for him.

I agree. This all sounds very odd to me. I would be worried and want to know why my husband was upset because that would be unusual. And I'd ask him if he wanted a drink too.

Oof, I had a grumpy one once. His grumpiness upon my 3rd achievement (3 big steps forward given my circumstances) I reaised he might not be the one for me and I assessed the relationship. You have children, so not as straight forward. Can he usually celebrate your wins with you?

OP, congrats on your promotion, but I think you are wasted in whatever your day job is.

Bloody hell - I was offered a new job a few weeks back and as soon as I'd put the phone down my other half hot footed it to the local corner shop and paid (over the odds) for a very dusty bottle of Moet!

His is not a good reaction... has he explained why he was being a dick? Just wondering if there was something else going on that he needed to piss on your chips?

When l got my new job, my dh insisted we went shopping for a whole new wardrobe of office attire so l looked the part ....even though l only do 2 days a week and have still got loads of work clothes from previous jobs.
The point is, he was delighted for me as he knew l was very happy with my new job.
Just park it up for when he is excited about something OP and you can piss all over his cornflakes!
