MP Natalie Elphicke is disgraceful!

MP for Dover and Deal Natalie Elphicke said in a chat to Tory MPs, "They lost - would it be ungenerous to suggest Rashford should have spent more time perfecting his game and less time playing politics."

Utterly disgusting and shameful from the Tory MP who's Husband Charlie Elphicke went to Prison for being a Sexual Predator. She also sold the story to The Sun for £25,000. She spends the majority of her time going on about 'illegal immigrants' coming into Dover on Dingys than actually tackling the issues that Dover has as the 4th most deprived area in Kent.

I don't see how the phrase "They lost - would it be ungenerous to suggest Rashford should have spent more time perfecting his game and less time playing politics" is racist. Is merely the fact that he is BAME enough to mean he cannot be criticised for his footballing inadequacies?

The people who were comparing the England missers as the "three wise monkeys" were racist. But I don't see how criticising one of them because he's more focused on making political points than scoring a penalty is in itself racist.

BTW by "political points" I'm talking about the FSM debacle.

It's not as though constituents have a wide choice of possible MPs - where I live you either vote Cons or you get a rabid pro referendum anti women SNP. I imagine in Kent if you want less immigrants arriving there you vote Cons.

It’s interesting how anything black people do that irritates the government is labelled as ‘politics’ or ‘political’. Lee Anderson MP boycotted the England games because taking the knee is ‘political’. Likewise, Priti Patel called it ‘gesture politics’. And Natalie Elphicke thinks Rashford’s work last year was ‘playing politics’.

If I were her I'd probably have kept a low profile.

He only did it not only have the tories contributed to the huge scandal that is a developed country with a surplus of food supply having people who cant afford to live, and because the compmay with the contract ripped off the recipients with mouldy food that was way below the 20/30 pound cost it was supposed to contain.

Hes not the first nor will he be the last footballer to.miss a penalty or have one saved. Someone had to lose. Italy missed missed a couple too should they have spent nore time practicing penalties

Football players are CONSTANTLY told that kids look up to them and that they should be role models.

And when one young man is an actual role model for kids, he gets criticised in a petty and mean spirited manner. Unbelievable.

I don't care about the politics, but it's a statement that shows her to be very ignorant. I'd expect that Rashford, and our other players who took the penalties, were really well trained and practiced. It's their job/responsibility to take them, but they also show great courage to accept that role.

I can only imagine the pressure those young men were under, we have NO IDEA. They did poorly, but that was not unexpected. They are young and will grow.

I'm not asking you to bite - she said absolutely nothing racist.

I'm asking you to explain exactly how what she said was racist because I really am curious as to how you've come to that conclusion. Rashford clearly annoyed some tories with his campaigning and she's referring to that.

Criticising a black person or BAME person is not automatically racism. Otherwise anyone who criticises Priti Patel for any reason can be dismissed as racist.

Interesting isn't it. I mean it's really charity work with a side order of social influence.

Framing it as 'politics' does imply there are 'sides' and this normally means left vs right. But actually there should be left vs right plus everyone on all sides should be in favour of anti-racism. Basic human decency really shouldn't be a 'side'.
