The news is reporting that a number of ticketless fans have forced their way into the stadium and occupied other people’s seats. The match has not been paused (which imo it should have been).

AIBU to think this shouldn’t be possible! What if they were terrorists instead of fans? Or what if there were enough of them to cause a crush?

Considering entry was only supposed to be with proof of negative LFT or vaccination, in addition to a ticket I’m doubly concerned.

There is footage out there of grown men lamping kids and teenagers. These fuckers need to be identified and thrown in jail.

I'm a security steward who works football stadiums and when there is a large number coming at you unfortunately there isn't much you can do. There clearly wasn't enough staff. I've had that myself when I was expected to search outside 4 turnstiles myself.

I was in Leicester Square this afternoon/early evening. I’d booked (adult) DS birthday meal for today not realising it was the final when I booked. There was one concentrated area with a lot of people, but also lots of police around and it wasn’t anywhere near as packed as it was made to look in the media. Yes it was busy and there were some idiots around. But it was possible to avoid the main group.

Yes, I thought I saw some women in the mob too.
Such a shame to spoil the event and must be terrifying for the people having to try and control them, whether they be police or stewards.

Yes, the majority enjoy it without trouble, but the behaviour it causes is significant.

Have none of you ever been to Wembley? The "security " is risible, its a gang of skinny students in hi-viz who hate confrontation. We are all lucky that the people who forced their way in were just drunken thugs, and not suicide bombers. Wembley management don't mind trousering the money and shafting the fans in a dozen different ways, but won't pay out for decent security.

I went to an FA Cup semi final a few years ago. Security was pretty much non-existent, or may as well have been. People had got cans and bottles in the main stands, people were let in who were drunk. I wasn’t searched, neither was anyone else that I noticed.

By contrast, I’m a season ticket holder at a Championship club, I’m searched every game (pat down, empty pockets and bag if I have one) and there are loads of stewards and police.

It has been hellish here today, I live near the stadium. The police presence was too late and lots of damage and disruption had happened before they arrived this afternoon. Whole thing has been badly handled.
