Make an appointment to discuss the results with the doctor.

CrouchEndTiger12 · 10/07/2021 18:10

See a doctor

Menora · 10/07/2021 18:12

Agree, make an appointment to discuss it
You may be anaemic. I had small blood cells (microcytic anaemia), HB of 7.6 and ferritin of 2 and I had to take a lot of iron and have a hysterectomy

notanotherusernameidea · 10/07/2021 18:13

That information alone is not enough to interpret the bloods.
Age, sex, medication would all need to be taken in to consideration.

SmokeyDevil · 10/07/2021 18:16

Shouldn't you have asked your doctor? How did you get those results if not from a doctor?

Whyyouso · 10/07/2021 18:17

I can’t get in to see the doctor for six weeks unfortunately

OP posts:
Whyyouso · 10/07/2021 18:17

They are on my patient access

OP posts:
Menora · 10/07/2021 18:17

I can see all my blood tests in the NHS app

SmokeyDevil · 10/07/2021 18:20

Just got to wait then unfortunately. Shouldn't be asking people on the Internet for advice on your medical problems. You've no idea who they are.

I could claim I'm a doctor and tell you that you're going to die unless you go to A&E right now. Not true and is just wasting your time.

Menora · 10/07/2021 18:20

@Whyyouso

Your GP will review them and call you or issue a prescription. If they don’t think it’s urgent then they won’t put urgent on it, have you asked if the GP has reviewed them yet? Rather than just look at them yourself

My mouth was bleeding then I was so anaemic I couldn’t eat without my tongue and corners of mouth bleeding and got out of breath walking around. If you feel rough then ask to speak to a GP urgently

Op people are so cautious on here it's bananas. It's easy to compare your blood results to nhs guidelines. Just search e.g. recommended ferritin levels and see how yours compare. If you are on any other meds or have conditions you can factor them into the equation. Your blood results on the nhs app will actually highlight any problems and also in lots of cases the recommendation e.g. retest in two months blah blah. I love the nhs app

CrouchEndTiger12 · 10/07/2021 19:40

@MrsPsmalls no we are not being ridiculously cautious.

We don't know what is wrong with her. What her symptoms are. What the background is.

Anyone can look up reference ranges and say high or low but only her Dr can advise her!

It is, but if this is the regular poster with an ED who asks a lot of questions about doctors, psychs and tests, but never, ever listens to the advice given in good faith (because she has an ED), then there is no point saying otherwise.

How can she factor other medication or conditions into the equation when she isn't medically trained and doesn't know the science behind them?

This is why doctors hate Facebook, forums and people like you. You think you know enough to know better than them, someone who studied for years. Because you did a 10 minute Google, and let's face it, a lot of people aren't even good at using Google.

She needs a doctor. Not a forum.

Kittyswhiskers · 10/07/2021 20:47

Your hb is way too low. I can’t comment on why but this does need looking at fairly quickly.

trappistkepler · 11/07/2021 13:16

OP asked a question, she knows she can ask a doctor, she can't or doesn't want to at the moment so ... She will get feedback maybe from someone who knows. I don't know but all my iron levels are lower than yours OP, I am not anaemic. Stop focusing on that. What are your calcium levels?

Greybeardy · 11/07/2021 13:51

The Hb isn’t in the results… giving an excellent demonstration of why advice from random people on the internet isn’t always a good idea!
Kittyswhiskers · 11/07/2021 13:52

I assumed this was hb - iron 7.8

@Greybeardy you’re a lovely polite thing aren’t you Grin

greenmacaron · 11/07/2021 13:58

Can you ask for a telephone appointment with a GP, or send an email asking for advice? Have you checked their website for options? Most GPs offer something remote even if face to face appointments are full up.

It looks like your iron levels are low. As for why that could be, or what should be done about it, you need advice from your doctor.
