Neighbours across the road (our fronts overlook their back garden) are being SO loud. Loads of adults shouting and blasting music, kids screaming and shrieking.

I get it's Friday. But it's 11pm (early enough I know but still seems late for kids to be screaming and shouting in their gardens..?) I've been awake since 6am for work this morning and I am tired and want sleep.

AIBU for being a grumpy cow or am I within my rights to possibly go over there and douse them all with my hose?

Is anyone else suffering with Noisy Neighbouritus right now?

I live in a diverse area. Once in a while there is a wedding (with lots of drumming) and cars horns etc which can go on for days. I accept that as a cultural custom. It never goes on much after 10 pm because they are families with kids too. The plus side is that my neighbours are not "drinkers" so you dont get drunken parties and hot tubs every weekend. Swings and roundabouts.

The comments saying forget it if it’s a one off… how far do you take that? Due to the weird layout of our road and a new estate, my house has 21 neighbours to side and back - if they all have just two ‘one-off’ parties a year that could be up to 42 weekends of late loud noise 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’d be zero tolerance very quickly!

HomerSimpsonsDonut · 10/07/2021 21:49

@PaganOfTheGoodTimes that is similar to our estate - new build estate (well about 2 years old), everyone is on top of each other.

There is another party tonight and they have a MEGAPHONE. An actual megaphone. Quite surprised as I thought people might be saving their craziness for tomorrow.

Bloody hell

SchrodingersImmigrant · 10/07/2021 21:52

Bloody hell. I live on large estate and the only regular and annoying parties are kid's ones because bouncy castle makes a hum which bugs me😂
Otherwise handful of houses had parties till late. It usually coincides with football. I expect tomorrow to be something special😐

HomerSimpsonsDonut · 10/07/2021 21:55

@SchrodingersImmigrant I'd definitely take the hum of a bouncy castle over what I can currently hear:

  1. A bloke on a megaphone
  2. More blokes hollering and shouting.
  3. About twenty women screaming.
  4. Kids shrieking.

😂

@SchrodingersImmigrant and yes I agree, tomorrow will be chaotic, especially if we win!

My neighbours down the road are currently having a karaoke party in their garden. DH has to be up at 6am tomorrow for work so he’ll be grumpy soon.

HomerSimpsonsDonut · 10/07/2021 22:27

@Loubiemoo I'm sure they are having karaoke down my road too...you don't live in a South Yorkshire town do you!?

@HomerSimpsonsDonut- do you live near me as I had this Friday night as well. I felt really unwell so went to bed early but got woken up by the noise.
