To ask how much to give?

At the end of term my son's key worker at nursery is leaving (for another job). He attends 15 hours a week using the free hours. There is a collection for her. How much should I give without seeming tight? There is also 3 other nursery staff, do I have to get them something as well at the end of term? Is it expected from nursery staff to get something? What happened to giving a card and maybe some chocolates when I was at school.

£5.
And I’d only get them something when he is leaving nursery.

£2-3

Will 5 pounds for collection and a box of chocolate for staff to share be okay?

Considering you are not obligated to get anything and it is a nice gesture, i think 5 pounds towards a collection and a box of chocolate for the staff is perfect.

I pick up nice candles, diffusers and gift sets throughout the year when they are reduced/on offer then when my son changes Keyworker or someone leaves we make a card and wrap a gift from the box. My son can then choose what he'd like to give that person and help wrap it. I know that's not what you're asking now but it might be something you'd like to try for the future. I do the same with children's toys/games and then if a party invite comes along I know I have something 'in the box'
