I've been amusing myself by coming up with things to go on my Fuckit List. It is a list of all the things I cannot be arsed to do before I die.

Don't want to climb a mountain
I don't fancy going to Goa
You can fuck skydiving
Skiing looks shit, you can keep that

What's the thing everyone else thinks you simply must do that you really cannot be arsed with?

YABU = shut up you miserable old bag, people can do these things if they want

YANBU = god no, I can't be arsed with all these "shoulds" either

Climb a fecking Munro my husband is obsessed and it bores the bejesus out of me tbh but he still tries to tempt me with beautiful scenery (which I can clearly and happily appreciate from the pictures he takes) which are mostly foggy by the way

AdaFuckingShelby · 07/07/2021 19:59

Yes, totally get where you're coming from OP. My list FWIW
New York
Vegas
Any city in the USA
Dubai
Sky dive
Posh restaurant where a meal costs more than in earn in a week
Glastonbury-too much like hard work to be me a smaller festival any day
Oh and any kind of endurance event, marathon, tri Athlon etc

I might like a small mountain, but definitely not Kilimanjaro or anything on that scale.

Aprilx · 07/07/2021 20:07

Hot air balloon. Zero appeal to me.

Whatalottachocca · 07/07/2021 20:10

I don’t want to visit the Taj Mahal or the pyramids & I don’t want to go anywhere to “find myself” or have a “spiritual experience”

IHateCoronavirus · 07/07/2021 20:11

I don’t want to go to work tomorrow, does that count? Wink

BlackeyedSusan · 07/07/2021 20:11

I find writing a bucket list of things you have already done and enjoyed is best. you can feel quite pleased you have achieved most of it them.

fuckit list.
skydiving
bungie jumping
owning a dog
going anywhere hot.

skiing. (tried dryslope and at tamworth and I was shit)

quiteathome · 07/07/2021 20:16

Cruises- they are floating germ factories.
Sky diving- just why
Tattoos
Theme parks.
Swim the channel. That sounds horrendous

Thewinterofdiscontent · 07/07/2021 20:17

Glastonbury
Scuba diving - hate slippy little fish
Travelling in a VW Camper
Not interested in India, Portugal, Russia or Canada
Going on a cookery course. No idea why these overpriced things are popular. Recipe and a You tube video if you must . Bang theres your food and it didn’t cost £700 and a shared room in Bordeaux.

Manteo · 07/07/2021 20:25

Australia and New Zealand. I love to travel and these seem to be at the top of a lot of people's lists but they are at the bottom of mine.

Veryverycalmnow · 07/07/2021 20:25

Vegas and swimming with dolphins. I like the idea of a fuckit list.

Holothane · 07/07/2021 20:30

The opera my dh says he’ll take me, err no thanks I’ve better things to do than sit not seeing much as so short sighted, not understanding a word said and all I’ll think about for the money how many blu rays or dvds I could’ve had instead.

HermioneGrunger · 07/07/2021 20:36

I don't want to do anything remotely dangerous or exhilarating.

I'm not sure I ever want to leave the country again. Apparently I really should.

I cant be arsed to have a big house with a garden, I'm far too fucking lazy for the upkeep. See above, it's de rigeur in these 'ere parts.

I don't want a hobby unless it involves watching shit tv and being alone. We should all have a hobby according to MN.

Camping as a holiday, tried that 48 years ago and thought it was dire yet people still try to persuade me it's A) fun, B) cheap, C) relaxing. I'd rather Hannibal's toenails.

Hesma · 07/07/2021 20:42

Tattoos
Bungee jumping
Skydiving
Roller coasters
The Fat Duck
Getting married again
Smoothies
Arching love island

Hesma · 07/07/2021 20:43

*watching love island

Purplecatshopaholic · 07/07/2021 20:57

Defo CBA…
… climbing a Munro (I’m Scottish) - got a wee bit of a way up Ben Nevis once, waste of fkn time - I’ll cut to the chase and just go straight to the pub, thanks.
… going to anything to do with Disney, Harry Potter or any theme park type thing - yawn.
… travel that involves any kind of slumming it - I can do without the ‘experience’ of a camper van or tent!

TabithaTiger · 07/07/2021 21:33

Ha! Love this thread!
I don't want to go to Las Vegas - slot machines in the middle of a desert, don't get it!
I'm not going to a yoga retreat in India to 'find myself'
Won't be doing scuba diving
Definitely not bungee jumping
No desire to go to Australia

Palavah · 07/07/2021 21:36

Go to a Grand Prix
Anal sex

ClawedButler · 08/07/2021 12:45

Oh hell yeah, Vegas, where is the appeal? If I had a shit ton of money to throw away and liked beige music, it's still a fucking long way to go for an overpriced sticky drink in a giant sandpit.

And marathons. Fuck, and I mean this most sincerely, that. If I had to get 26 miles in a hurry I'd get a bloody taxi. AND the people who want to be sponsored. No-one asked you to do it, and if I supported that particular charity I'd donate straight to them. Imagine if you saw someone begging for change and you said to them, "OK I'll give you a quid but you've got to run to the end of the high street and back first".

OP posts:
ClawedButler · 08/07/2021 12:46

And YY to finding yourself or having a spiritual experience. Mainly because I imagine the view from inside your own arsehole isn't all that spectacular.

OP posts:
ghostyslovesheets · 08/07/2021 12:49

Hen weekends
Running (have done it for years then recently realised I hate it!)
Dubai
Travelling 'experiences' aka back packing in hot slightly dodgy places
fire pits

AutistGoth · 08/07/2021 13:14

Going to Glastonbury festival - I'd visit the area itself for the historical stuff, but the festival, no thanks!
Cruises look like my idea of hell - Dparents love them, though.
Visiting the Far East - China, Japan, S. Korea etc. How would I communicate? I don't understand any of the languages!
Dying my hair - I'll probably lose Goth points for this, but I love my waist length, naturally coloured hair. I can't bear to damage it by altering its appearance. Unpopular opinion, but I'm actually looking forward to it turning grey/silvery white. I have always considered long white hair to be exceptionally beautiful if it's in good condition.
Visiting the Arctic.
Owning a cat (sorry, I'm allergic!).
Paragliding.
Skydiving.
Abseiling.
Visiting a theme park/Going on a roller coaster (I prefer gigs!).

I'll play my instrument, attend gigs, read novels (and attempt to write them too) and wear black. Smile 🖤
