Test and trace - ridiculous phone calls

Just come back from a holiday and self isolating (day 5 test done and due tomorrow).
However while I get they may need to contact and check you’re at home - between me and DH we have now received 9 calls from t&t since Monday. Always with the same script - taking ten minutes each time. Questions are irrelevant and aren’t whether we are at home etc,

Wibu to tell them to stop calling twice a day when we are trying to get on with work.

@GaspGulpScream

I had the same plus a house visit, pain in the arse The other side of the coin is that they'd be criticised if they did nothing I suppose
Oddly a house visit I would be ok with. It’s the weird repetitive calls that I’m annoyed with. Am clear for my day 5 now so will be ignoring from now on in.

I am in the same boat OP, I am on my final day.

Utterly pointless calls, I know the script now and just wait for the expected pauses so I can respond, yes (happy to proceed, even though I haven’t understood a word of your long winded and mumbled GDPR statement) , yes (I am isolating at the address I provided on my passenger locator form, although there is no way for you tell if I am lying) and no (I haven’t tested positive)

My northern ears are struggling very much with the very thick south London accents they all seem to have too!

Sandinmyknickers - I totally agree, my actual words were "serves them right ", I only posted to show that a- there is a need for the calls as there are selfish wankers around (blame them for the calls, if people did keep to the rules there would be no need), b- they do catch rule breakers and there is a consequence.

Ah the mumbling! I honestly wonder if it’s done on purpose so you miss what they’re actually saying

@Beendownthisroadmorethantwice, it was weird as I thought it was a myth they'd just turn up!
I couldn't understand them either, they said they were recording it for training purposes, I said good as you are speaking too quickly for me to understand, he laughed
They are just doing their job though , they were polite and it for me, it's for the greater good and as I've said, what's the alternate? I wanted to go away so basically I signed myself up for it

Brunandcroissant · 09/07/2021 09:40

They've probably got duplicate and crossed over records - happened to someone I know and it was impossible to get rid of them or explain. They do just follow a script. Just ignore it.
