To think that Matt Hancock had to be got rid of and so was stitched up?

I’ll start by saying I’m not one for conspiracies, neither do I particularly like Hancock. I’ve suspected it all along, but I can see it even more clearly now. He was the one person standing in the way of fully lifting restrictions, wanting to proceed with caution and so they had to get rid of him. I can’t believe more people haven’t worked it out yet. Why sit on that footage for six weeks? They had his successor in in under and hour.

It makes me sick. What a terrifying joke of a government we have.

Yep wouldn't be surprised

MercyBooth · 06/07/2021 15:25

@GoldenLabbie Hancock is a hypocrite He signed off on all these rules. He was one of those who have been guilt tripping the public about not seeing their families and these psychological tactics were ramped up on steroids in the run up to Christmas. He said he put a protective ring around care homes which was complete bollocks. Told people "dont blow it now" during press conferences. And all the while it was do as i say, not as i do.
And somehow i dont think you would be so forgiving of someone from a social housing estate who was breaking the rules

DerisorySnort · 06/07/2021 15:27

There is an interesting podcast out there where a journalist claimed that it was Mrs Hancock’s decision to end the marriage when he told her of the affair. Not the heartless ‘he’s left his wife and kids for another woman’ narrative that we are being told. I definitely think there is more to the story than we know

HE ended the marriage by having the affair! It’s all on him. He shagged another woman whilst his poor wife looked after family and did his local networking and campaigning for him. Of course he’s fucking heartless! None of this is on her.

TotorosCatBus · 06/07/2021 15:27

Didn't Gina's brother work at a company that got taxpayer money too?

GertietheGherkin · 06/07/2021 15:32

@IDontReadEyebrows

I’m guessing Boris and the rest knew what the cheating little wanker was up to and weren’t arsed either way until it suited them. Then the footage was leaked to the scum and Hancock was gone.

I imagine they’ve all got all sorts of dirt on each other including on the prime minister, and they will leak it to the press as and when they want to, depending on who they want to replace as quickly as possible or to distract while they do something awful.

I think this post nails it.
PicsInRed · 06/07/2021 15:37

He was personally benefitting and at the very least his close friends were financially benefitting from pandemic measures and restrictions, which he was instrumental in keeping in place, and which were extended after he withheld key data from the decision meeting in May.

He had to go. He should probably also go to prison.

MercyBooth · 06/07/2021 15:38

Not sure what all that looking round the door was about. I'll have to think about that one

He was probably checking that no one was around so he could nick the last custard cream out of the biscuit tin.

This is an interesting theory, may I take it a step further?

The polls in Batley and Spen two weeks before the vote indicated a probable win for the Conservatives & a devastating loss for Labour. This would have lead, in all probability, to a leadership challenge within Labour maybe with Andy Burnham becoming a replacement for Keir Starmer.

Perhaps the Tories did not want that hence the scenario you describe, maybe even Hancock was in on it & if he returns to a front line post indecently quickly (no pun intended) I will think maybe he was....

However, I can think of only one person machiavellian enough to come up with such a plan: Dominic Cummings, so perhaps not.

FiloPasty · 06/07/2021 15:47

I think it was also that he had been out doing “official business” staying in hotels with Gina too. Definitely a misuse of public funds!

BerylReader · 06/07/2021 15:50

The original House of cards is worth a watch. They have stuff in everyone and will use it when and how they feel best!

Redcrayons · 06/07/2021 15:55

The timing of the video was rather suspect, however if he’d kept it in his pants he’d still be in his job.

Weebleweeble · 06/07/2021 16:05

Or had it been a marriage of convenience for some time, like Gove?

Oh, this is what it's called now - not some old shagger after a younger bit on the side. I'm pretty sure the wives DO know they are shagging around, they can hardly be attending late nights in the House, or whatever the excuse is, when it's shut due to Covid, but rather than cause even more media coverage than there would be if this leaked out they do the best thing for their DCs and inform the media that they have 'agreed amicably to part' as in the case of Bojo's wife. And surprise surprise the randy old shagger suddenly pops up with a 'new' partner. Yeah right.

PicsInRed · 06/07/2021 16:10

Or had it been a marriage of convenience for some time, like Gove?

A lot of men have these marriages of convenience, they just fail to tell the wife this fact until the minute she's summarily dismissed.

@chickenyhead

Nobody forced him to hide the sausage
😂😂😂
LondonJax · 06/07/2021 16:38

No, no stitch up.

Gina C was given a pass to Parliament when she wasn't officially working for MH (who she knew at university), then she worked for him as an unpaid aide, then got the £15K pa job (20 days a year - nice work if you can get it). That pass gave her unfettered access to MPs etc., and she could bring guests in too.

So question is, why was she given access? Who did she bring in, if anyone, as a guest? Who did she or any guests speak to? Did she use that access to help those guests get contracts paid for by us, the tax payer? Did MH know who she was bringing in (if anyone) and did he condone that? Did he help her get access or help any of her guests?

Why did MH have a habit of using his private email instead of his official one? Anyone with half a brain knows that, if you're approached on private email about work, you answer on the work email (so they have the official email address) and cut and paste their message into it so you have a record. That's standard practice and only an idiot does otherwise. It's called covering your arse. Unless you have more to cover than most perhaps?

Lord Bethell also sponsored her for a pass to the Lords apparently (which is only supposed to be given to aides - and she did no work for him) and he was a donor to MH's run for Tory leader and works in the department of Health. So why did he give her a pass? What work did she do for that? Why is it not listed? Again who did she bring in (if anyone) and who did she contact (if anyone)?

And her father works for a company that got contracts for the NHS. Although they say that was down to individual areas health trusts, not the department of health (although having a link to at least two ministers wouldn't have hurt...)

So it's all very messy. MH got this woman working with him/for him or in the same building as him over two years ago and they were friends at university. This wasn't a flash in the pan. The real story (or investigation) should be why she was given a pass by two people in the health department when she wasn't working for either of them. What did they think she was doing? And was she contacting people with MH full knowledge?

I think there's a lot more to come out here.

MercyBooth · 06/07/2021 16:44

YY @PicsInRed I think he had something to gain by sitting on that data.

HarebrightCedarmoon · 06/07/2021 16:46

I think he provided the ammunition to be easily stitched , the great divvy. But yes, he was stitched up like a kipper and conveniently dispatched.

That'll be it. Those custard creams always go fast in any office.

Yup. This is what I think too. I wonder if he can ever come back from this? Those CCTV images will follow him forever. Can you imagine the first time he tweets again for example? He’s going to break the internet.

If Hancock has his own dossier of dirt, like Gavin allegedly does, then he'll be able to make a return imo. People are forgiving of political affairs helped by the fact that the wronged wives aren't dragging their exes through the mud. Boris was cheating while his wife had cancer which is lowest of the low but people are fine with that and his fans will bring up the fact that he cheated on wife 1 with wife 2.

Considering that Gavin has had a job despite being sacked for security breaches means that incompetence isn't an issue either. I suspect it's so that people think that Boris isn't that bad.

Considering how much taxpayer money he gave to his friends, there should be lots of companies willing to overpay him for his expertise should he just want cushy jobs for a while.

GoldenLabbie · 07/07/2021 12:51

Oh I’d say he definitely must have dirt on others. How can he not? I bet he’s planning his next move as we speak.

Everyone has 'worked that out'. The day it happened.

The video was kept until it was valuable. It was sold to the Sun by an anti-lockdown enthusiast who, as you can see, has gotten everything they wanted, knowing that someone more bullish would be put into the role.

GoldenLabbie · 07/07/2021 13:01

I also wonder how into him this woman actually is? It looks pretty one sided to me in that footage. Bet she’s mortified that he left his wife for her and I’m sure the novelty will wear off. If it hasn’t already.

OP posts:
Freshprincess · 07/07/2021 13:17

My theory is that he’s always had a thing for her, but she wasn’t into him because he’s Matt Hancock.
Suddenly he’s all important, on TV, saving lives, getting her into parliament

Now he’s quit in disgrace, no big bucks to throw around, no Summits of world leaders to go to, the shine will start to wear off.

GoldenLabbie · 07/07/2021 14:14

@Freshprincess I agree.
