To find wimpy men such a turn off?!

I'm talking about my DP specifically here. He had a tooth out yesterday morning and has been in bed ever since. I had two teeth out 2 years ago and just carried on as normal, despite developing dry socket....!
What happened to all the manly men?!

It's such a race to the bottom. Not every one deals with pain the same way. But some people need to get a medal for their genes. Bless em and their pathetic need to Lord it over others, eh?!
@forgothowmuchihatehomeschoolin Well I thought it was a breeze, personally! Be careful not to dislodge the clot afterwards though or you'll end up with dry socket which IS on a par with childbirth. Hope it goes well 👍
Congratulations on being such a manly man, OP. Have a Yorkie.

Doublestar · 06/07/2021 15:13

If you mean you can't stand hypochondriacs Op, then I agree. People who moan about their ailments or turn minor illnesses/treatments into an excuse to loaf around get up my nose.

I couldn't put up with it in a partner, no.

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 06/07/2021 15:16

@doublestar, Yes, thank you - that is what I meant. He does tend to use minor ailments as an excuse to do nothing. Maybe using a tooth extraction as an example was a mistake.

It really depends. Like PP I don't like the idea that men should put up with pain more than women. That said it's annoying when people make a huge deal out of every minor ailment. Obviously it's impossible to tell whether your DH is doing that - not all tooth extractions are the same and to be honest if he really is in loads of pain there's no need to be a martry, he's fine to stay in bed a while.

LonginesPrime · 06/07/2021 15:21

It doesn't sound like he was trying to turn you on, OP, so I wouldn't worry too much.

WhateverHappenedToFayWray · 06/07/2021 15:43

I had two wisdom teeth out a couple of years ago and it was the worst pain I have ever been in, even after giving birth. I had dry socket and I still get nerve pain from my jaw up to my temple. It was excruciating

userxx · 06/07/2021 15:44

Yep, I know what you mean OP. Huge turn off.

StarryNight468 · 06/07/2021 15:46

I'm a woe is me person sometimes. I actually love having a cold and spending a couple of days in bed and off work Blush dh is the one who gets on with things on my house!

@ThursdayWeld

What does "manly" mean then? Why have you decided that how you and your DH handle things is down to your sexes?

You sound like some kind of fifties throwback.

And you sound like a modern day snowflake.

Some of us do still believe that your sex is a stereotype in many ways - albeit not in all ways. And guess what? That is ok too.
