I’m currently trying to introduce solids to six and a half month old baby’s diet. It isn’t going very well.

OH keeps offering him ice cream and chocolate that he’s eating and saying he ‘loves’ it. Obviously he does but I am actually getting a bit worried about this. I know it’s only a taste but it’s encouraging a really poor diet. Or am I being precious?

A taste once in a blue moon is perfectly fine. But you're making it sound more common than that.....

It is very important to make them taste less than sweet food. DC1's paediatrician suggested broccoli Smile and that's what my kids started their eating with.

Btw some kids only start accepting food later. DC1 was 6months, DC2 was 8 and DC3 was nearly 8 as well. Some parents only give food at 1yo. So no need to stress Wink just keep trying every few days until they are interested
