Supervise role available.

Other colleague is liked on a personal level but professional. Hard worker but rubs people up the wrong way. 6 years of service.

I’ve been doing a job for 1.5 years - we’ve all been made redundant so the new jobs we’ve all good are different.

Other colleague is on a written warning which could have been a scape goat moment. However she’s not a team player.

If I apply and I’m rejected, I’ll be sad but if I get it, it will feel like egg on my face.

Agh

I wouldn’t say ether of us are more qualified, but a ten of 10 and she’s the only one who is able to do that part of the job. That makes the company quite vulnerable.

Other colleague is on a written warning which could have been a scape goat for management who has since been pushed. However she’s not a team player and hasn’t shown anything of a supervisory role.

If I apply and I’m rejected, I’ll be sad but if I get it, it will feel like egg on my face.

Agh.

I’m also the same age - 35 and shes had a child so took time off work. I’ve went back to uni for a business degree, but graduated four years agox

Maybe you’re not well suited to a supervisory role if you believe taking time off for maternity disadvantages someone…

Wow! You do realise that I was mentioning her work history rather than maternity discrimination…..

I’ve given her 6 years of work history and my 4 years.. … because that’s what they will also base it on.

Why will it feel like egg on your face if you get it?

I don't understand.

I don't understand.

English isn’t my first language.

Wrong phrase.

I meant I will feel she hate me for not being promoted.

You need to think of your own strengths, not concern yourself with hers or her failings.

Concentrate on you. Good luck.

GiantWingedWaspMoth · 03/07/2021 22:27

She might.

But how would you feel of she became your boss? Would that be better?

And of course theres the possibility sure might not get it even if you don't apply - they might hire someone externally.

Apply. You know you want to.

I don’t they can because someone is secondment and doesn’t want their new role.

Yes would be awful if she was my boss.
