Have posted else where but posting here as well :)

For back story my four year old is currently having problems with his liver it's caused lots of symptoms including vomiting and jaundice.
We don't know what's causing it but some how he's created the association that him eating too much has caused his illness and will not eat anything apart from cereal and snacks. Last night his dad managed to tempt him into a happy meal and it was going well till he choked on a chip and was sick we tied explaining to him but he just keeps saying eating too much makes him poorly.
He will eat fruit cucumber tomato's as well
As snacks like crisps how do I handle this I don't want to make it worse but he needs to be eating as he's so unwell

Gosh, I’m so sorry, that sounds very stressful. Are you able to get a referral to a dietician wherever he’s being treated for his liver problems? It sounds as though he needs proper help given everything going on.

The only think I’d suggest is to re-introduce tiny bits of different foods. So, say, a teaspoon of yoghurt, just a few beans etc, till he builds up his confidence again

Poor thing, how stressful. I would second what the pp said, reintroduce foods but in really tiny quantities to build confidence and not all at once. Small meals but more regularly seems like a good option for him.

Thank you! We are back in for the day tomorrow for more testing so I think I will try speaking to someone to see if we can get some ideas together. Definitely going to take things slowly I'm not overly concerned about what he is eating as such so just lots little and often till we figure out the best thing to do xx
