2 days with the usual afterschool childminder, 3 days visiting family.
A week's holiday in the south west.
Two weeks back home where I am doing childcare swaps with friends and family, so only using 1 weeks worth of holiday.

1 week back at the childminder, then a couple of days there and 3 days off with DH who will plan some fun local excursions.

2.5 weeks holiday camp
1 week grandparents
2 weeks annual leave (should be on holiday but not sure what we’ll do assuming can’t go)
2 days hockey camp (child has no idea how to play hockey but was the only camp covering inset days)

Few days with DH, few days at holiday clubs, few days with grandparents, few days with me and a family holiday in the middle. I haven't actually got something booked for every single day yet so they might have to have a few days locked in a cupboard Grin

We are going to Devon for the first two weeks which will be lovely.

Week 5, DS is doing a week's swimming lessons at his usual pool. It's a half hour lesson each morning but it is 1 to 1 so quite intense. That week, we will probably chill at home in the afternoon.

Otherwise, local walks/parks/picnics, library visit, local museum for a visit, lego project. He is good friends with the girl down the road so will probably play with her a lot - we are fortunate to have good outside space. We will see my aunt and my parents, day to do school uniform shopping, probably the odd lunch out and hopefully a trip into Manchester to MOSI.

I am fortunate that as a teacher, I have the holidays off with DS which is lovely.

Visiting various family and UK holiday destinations and staying home, really looking forward to it

Any free/inexpensive activities I can find nearby. So far thinking library, 3 local museums, art gallery, the castle, beach, park, signed them up to a free sports event with the local rugby team too. Anything that gets them out of the house. Probably pay through the nose to take them to a local maize maze too.

Ds’s are 15 and 8, they have 7 weeks off. Money is pretty tight at the minute so there won’t be any trips which cost a lot.
I have one week off at the beginning of august and the last week of the holidays which we have a uk lodge booked. Youngest will spend 1/2 days a week alternating at grandparents when me and dp are working. In between I am thinking local parks, maybe taking a picnic to parks further away if weather is nice, museum trip and cinema/swimming if funds allow. Youngest still has an activity twice a week but eldest will happily stay in the room glued to a screen for the summer so I will try and get him involved in a few outings

troppibambini6 · 18/07/2021 16:32

I've just pulled mine out for the last week. One isolating last week and another this week so many cases at school it's ridiculous.

We have this week at home, next week a uk break, week after going abroad til end of August. Bank holiday weekend will be sons birthday party and then another week at home just relaxing til they go back.

Terrazzo · 18/07/2021 16:38

Going to Portsmouth and London for weekends and a week away big family holiday all being well! Then the rest of the time we’re having a friend’s son over one day a week, and eldest is going to holiday club one day a week, and youngest will be going to nursery. Made some bookings such as swimming, trampoline park, gardens, bowling. Lots of chilling!

Tigger85 · 18/07/2021 16:50

DS is 3 turning 4 in August and preschool was only 2.5 hrs per day anyway so we will be doing our normal things. He will entertain himself in the house and garden, we will go to the local parks and some larger ones a bit further away. A few beach trips and days out. We have a week in the lake District the first week visiting family. I think the holidays should be longer tbh, I would give the children all of July and August off of it were up to me.
