To not want to work hard?

After 4.5 years of working hard, having high productivity and continuously passing assurance quality, supporting colleagues. I’m always deemed at the end of year - average you did the job expected.

Promised projects given to others and same people. I tried to give myself a project and it was presented as managements idea. Found out I’m one of the lowest paid people - even lower than someone who asks me at work how do I write this sentence?

We now get emails each day telling us we need a “big push” to get a lot of work done. But genuinely what’s the point? I don’t slack off and I do the work but in the last 6 months I don’t go above and beyond and stress myself out anymore and do extra work on top of my daily work.

Why do management expect you to do this when it will never get acknowledged or rewarded in your appraisal. You do the extra work and it’s just classed as “well you did your job - nothing more”.

(I am applying for a new job)

YANBU. You need to fight for a pay rise or leave.

I think you need to have a paper trail and evidence (although it’s shit that you need to do this as you sound a great employee) and also be unafraid to say ‘well I understand I have been earning less than people who I am advising’.

Is there a HR dept to review your progress or a nicer senior employee or manager who you could ask in confidence what else you need to do (I suspect in all cases it would be nothing more you need to do but it would put you on the right radar for a rise) Good luck!!
