Non food related date night ideas!

We’ve got a babysitter overnight on Friday so it’s date night! Getting a bit bored of going out for dinner though and there’s nothing int he cinema worth watching. I’m pregnant so can’t drink and don’t mind driving. He planned the last one so it’s my turn and I’m feeling very unimaginative!

Aibu to ask for some awesome ideas of date nights you have been on that I can shamelessly steal and pass off as my own?

Do you have anywhere pretty nearby you could go for an evening picnic? still kind of food related but not going out for dinner. Take some blankets and hot chocolates and watch the sun set. If the baby sitter is available all night and budget allows you could book a night in a nearby hotel, perhaps one with beautiful rooms and a lovely indoor pool area, pretend you're on holiday for the night.
Do either of you have any hobbies that would lend themselves? you could see if there are any relevant events on nearby. One of my favourite dates was an evening my now DP took me to a horse show and let me spend all evening explaining the rules and fantasy horse shopping. Probably boring as hell to most people but it was different and right up my street.

Go and watch the sunset and take lots of selfies of the two of you together.

Go somewhere expensive but just for dessert
Ice skating rink

@Forrrestttheout we love picnics! But I have really bad spd and won’t be able to sit on the floor.

Twilight spa, mini golf, bowling, board game cafe, watch the sunset, go for a walk, foot golf, look for an outdoor theatre show?

Where do you live OP? Near me I would go for a nice walk with a view, sit on a bench and chat if the weather was nice. Or I'd look up live music happening. There's a local undercover food place which does cocktails (including virgin varieties) and amazing coffee and has a great ambience. You could go bowling and play on the arcade machines. There are evening cookery classes (still food I guess but not a meal out). There's a pottery painting place too that's open evenings.

Yes, twilight spa, the water will help your SPD (I can remember the pain clearly)! Malvern & Bath both do lovely ones if either location works for you.

Comedy club. It's all seated nowadays and you order drinks from your table so wouldn't have to be standing around.

What did you decide to do @LittleBlackCat22

theyoungishman · 04/07/2021 12:00

Escape Room? Comedy night? Axe throwing? (depending on how far along you are of course!) Retro video game arcade? Cooking class? Night swimming?

@Forrrestttheout we booked a last minute air bnb in the new forest and drove up there :) went for a nice walk, had a few mock tails out and bought a pizza back. It was lovely!

I did mini golf for a birthday night when I was pregnant and it was much more fun than we thought it would be.

Id try that.
