Would you go and exercise in a smallish studio after you've been double jabbed?

I'm doubled jabbed. I exercise - strength/circuit/HITT type classes - in a studio with about 12-15 others at a time. There's no contact sports, we just do our own thing but obviously we are working alongside other people. The back door is left open.

I've been going the past two weeks and it's great to be back. But today, I had three calls from parents who've teen kids have Covid. Not local to me, different cities, but still.

Most of the people who go to the studio are young and won't have been vaxed.

Am I being silly going? Or if I go, should I wear a mask?

It's really helpful for me to go mentally, aside from anything else, but now I'm worried

No, I wouldn't do it. Unnecessary risk taking. Perhaps try doing some other type of exercise until the situation is more stable

If being fully vaccinated isnt enough for you to feel comfortable living normally what will be?

Just trying to decide in a similar situation. There were less people last week and now it's suddenly come busier and as much as I enjoy the class I don't think I'm going back for now. I'm mainly worried about self isolating as it truly sucks.

I've only had my first dose too.

I went before being single jabbed! Ours is a small studio but numbers are low with spaces marked out (although when the air con is running for an hour I'm not sure social distancing makes any difference!). I've tried to avoid the busier classes and gym slots now that our local numbers have gone through the roof again until I get my 2nd jab. I went to a Pilates class and one lady wore a mask, I don't think I could do it for something more strenuous though! Are there no outdoor classes on offer?

I really really want them to stop the self isolating rules for people who are fully vaccinated or indeed altogether. And/ or for case rates to fall so far that an exposure will be really unlikely.

Until then it's not really my choice about 'going back to normal life'. The government is stopping me from doing that by making me risk 10 days of isolation if I am a contact of someone positive even if neither of us has my symptoms.

I want to go back to the gym, cinema, shops, restaurants etc but when I do I am risking being quarantined and having my life disrupted. That would really suck if I have plans eg had to cancel half term holiday because my son had a contact at school despite him being completely well. Dreading if that happens again with our summer holiday. It isn't unlikely the way things are with schools.

It's this that makes me fear things will not be 'normal' after mid July because the threat of being quarantined will always be there. I have switched off the stupid app tracing but I am still required to check into venues and many are strict on that. The gym had a door entry system and my membership details anyway so they know when I was there and where I live. I have no idea which fellow member was positive or whether I really was anywhere near them (it's a big place with 2 floors) but I would have had to isolate anyway which is hugely disruptive and would go down like a tonne of bricks with my employer.

I don't think I would risk the class in OP's position but just because of the isolation not Covid itself. I am going to the gym but at really quiet times (shift work so I can do that) to reduce the risk of anyone else being there with COVID. I figure if I go on a weekday morning the other people are often OAPs and will be double jabbed so less chance of a contact.
