Met with a friend for lunch the other day we were chatting about this and that and I mentioned I had booked to take my two under 2's on a just for tots break next summer. My friends reaction was quite clearly one of horror.. I know its not fancy but she pulled a face like I had said we were going to have a week at HMP.
AIBU to want to holiday fairly locally with two very small children, with activities to keep them occupied?

We went to Bognor in the heatwave in 2019, dc absolutely loved it and have been desperate to go back, it is terrific value for money with all the entertainment you get included, we stayed in a traditional chalet which was basic but fine, we self catered which made things a lot cheaper, had fish and chips on the beach one day as a break. It is full on entertainment from the moment they get up til when they hit the sack, the evening entertainment was great too, Diversity was highlight show, and their splash zone was awesome, go and enjoy, ignore the snobs.

We went in May for my little boys 2nd birthday. He had a fab time. Played in the sea, joined in the singing and dancing and singing as throughly entertained for the week.

Heads up, if you’re going to a show with Justin fletcher (aka mr tumble!) send a cheeky email to the agent (you can find info on google). We got to do a meet and green with him, totally feee and backstage, was amazing. (All socially distanced but even my 10yo was thrilled - such a nice guy!)

I am SO fed up with people making out Butlin's is in some way inferior as a holiday choice!
People think it is still the way it was 30 or more years ago - it isn't. The fact is they have very nice hotels at Bognor and nice accommodation at the other 2 camps.
The entertainment is fantastic if you want that kind of thing and there is always loads to do for families. The only thing I would say is that treats such as ice creams etc can be expensive if you have more than 1 child to cater for!
People need to stop being so judgmental about other peoples choice of holiday - it's tedious and often without real knowledge of the place!

We went to a just for tots week a couple of weeks ago and had a fantastic time. Our lakeside chalet was lovely and clean. My DD4 and I did all the shows, went swimming and went on the fairground rides. So many lovely memories and we didn't want to leave.
My DH didn't like it much but he is seriously hard to please.

YANBU. We went a couple of weeks ago with our 2 year old and it was fantastic. We’ll definitely be going back!

Enjoy your break!

Get the Butlins resort app, plan your activities ahead and wait for the email from Butlins to say bookings are open. Then book like crazy. Regularly check the app as bookings open up each day.
We liked the booking system as it meant we didn't have to queue for shows. People who hadn't booked still saw most of the shows but its not guaranteed and you have to queue

@Thehop

My kids LOVE butlins and so do I.

My husband won’t go again because they were huge supporters of brexit and put a lot of money into it.

Gutted.

Good for him!
