At what age do children stop screaming and screeching when they are playing and AIBU to not allow children up to that age to stay at my holiday rental apartment?

I know not all chidren scream and screech but many do. I’ve just come in from my garden because it’s getting noisy out there.

I’m about to rent out a holiday flat I own that in a quiet block with no other children.

I want my neighbours at the flat to be inconvenienced as little as possible and have a number of things in place to ensure they are not disturbed.

I’d like views on here about what age limit to apply.
Thanks

I would worry the no children would backfire.
Adults can be very loud- adults with kids are more likely quiet in the evening if their kids are asleep.

Over 12s is a good idea. I would also put some disclaimer on their about noise.

I think 12 is a bit old. 7 is probably ok. If you find you do get screechers you can always revise the age limit upwards. I totally understand why B&B owners etc don't want small children but it can be a real pain when your child behaves and you can't find somewhere nice to stay.

And plenty of places say no dogs due to accommodating people with possible allergies or because they have their own dogs (or cats).

@BlackberrySky

“this is in a quiet location unsuitable for dogs, large gatherings and children under 12“

Excellent wording , thank you !

@looptheloopinahulahoop

I completely agree it’s a pain when you don’t let your children screetch but are still barred from lots of nice places to stay.

I’m constantly amazed at the racket some parents let their children make , but I know this has been discussed at length here .

I can put up with it in the place where I live but don’t want to be one of those people who has a short term rental that makes others’ lives a misery by making no effort to limit the inconvenience to neighbours.

I think normal kids noise is fine but the screeching some do is the worst. Our neighbors grandchildren are allowed screech for hours on end. There is zero effort to quieted them. I cannot understand it as I wouldn't allow my children behave like that, zero consideration for anyone else and it is totally unnecessary
