Just read MH's resignation letter - which was addressed to Boris Johnson. Does this say "Yours ever"??? Isn't this a peculiar signing off of professional letter to your boss?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it sounds strange.

I can see it's roots are not romantic but "Yours ever", seems to similar to "yours foverever".

I can only think of the term as slightly romantic. Ie.

Dear Boris,

I'm sad to leave and I will miss your fluffy hair.

Lots of love and kisses,

Yours ever and ever,
Matt

Letter writing language is all wanky though

Yours sincerely
Yours faithfully

We are never really ‘yours’. I can’t be bothered to google the origins.
