YABU- I wouldn't
YANBU- in a heartbeat

I would. I miss running to the otherwise of the playground because walking was too slow. or walking along walls because the floor was too boring. Stuff like that. I read quite a lot of books written from a child's perspective. And listen to the hits from when I was about 5-8 whereas my DH listens to music from his teens and early twenties. My parents have said they would go back to being a young adult over a child.

I am in the midst of child rearing but when this is over I suppose I would long for these years and might forget about my own childhood.

No, I realised the other day that post age 21 is the only period in my life when I havent been bullied or abused.

I’d go back to being 19 again for week, that was fun. I’d hate to go back to being a kid, just because I don’t want to be told what to do.

Really, I think I’d like to be rich for a week and have staff to do all the naff adulting stuff, and just do the fun bits with my dc and have some fun away from my kids!

I would go back for a few days for sure. It would be amazing.

I would call for all my mates on the council estate that I lived on. Hop the fence over to my nannies for a quick visit, then up the chip shop for chips and beans in a tray for 50p.

I didn’t have the easiest of childhoods but there were many moments of happiness and joy. Everyone knew everyone on the estate and there was a real sense of community. They really were fantastic days and I was privileged to have the last of them (before society changed).

Feels like such a lifetime ago but now and again (particularly when I can hear the ice cream van) I shut my eyes and I pretend I’m 6 again in my back garden eating my dinner with my teddies.

It really depends. If I had to repeat the childhood I had then no, absolutely not!!!! I'm a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and I really wouldn't want to live through that again!!
If I had a shot at a whole new childhood, then yes!! I'd grab that chance with both hands and wring every piece of joy, laughter and innocence I could from it!!

Thecazelets · 26/06/2021 21:48

Not a chance.

My childhood wasn't great but would i enjoy being a child again for a week, absolutely yes. And a couple of weeks as a slim, pretty, teenager, yes please.
