Wondering if anyone has had this before and what they did/whether they would request to see the GP about this?

Basically my son (5 months) seems to have gotten a lot more sicky recently. He very rarely brought milk up before but for around the past month he has started doing so almost after every feed but also at random times too. It can be hours after he's last fed and he'll randomly throw it up. Sometimes it's quite a lot.

He is a very happy baby, good weight gain, still wants his bottles, sleeps well etc... He doesn't seem ill but it's alarming me how often he is being sick at the moment.

I would ring my HV but she is utterly useless I've given up.

Sounds like reflux. Do you make sure you wind him thoroughly after each feed?

Greyness · 24/06/2021 15:29

Yes we wind him every time and he 9/10 times brings wind up. It never seems to stop him bringing the milk up ages later though

Yes, sounds like reflux. I’d be asking a GP to take a look.
Any signs of teething ?

DinosaurDiana · 24/06/2021 15:30

Or milk allergy.

Pigeonpocket · 24/06/2021 15:42

Could be a milk allergy? My dd was diagnosed with cmpa at 5 months old and she was very sicky with it. It got worse over time until we realised.

Greyness · 24/06/2021 16:00

Milk allergy could be possible yes. I actually took him to the drs when he was first born because I suspected this. They shoo'd me off with an info sheet about colic but said I could try comfort milk if I wanted which I did and he has been much better on it until this.

Another vote for cmpa. Any other signs such as eczema, diarrhoea or fussiness?
In my experience most GPs are woefully misinformed when it comes to babies and allergies.

dryasaboner · 24/06/2021 16:16

I would suggest it's teething. The acid from teething can really upset reflux. My son was CMPA and it really flared up with teething
