I know I am really.

I have a few DC, and my 18 yr old is so very lazy.

No help around the house, clean, dry, folded washing is just thrown on the end of the bed.

Cereal bowls / cups / glasses just dumped on the kitchen side when finished with. Bedroom not dusted at all this entire year.
I've asked, offered help with routines, everything.

Nothing ever their fault. Not quite sure when they became so selfish really.

Finally flipped out today. Not my finest moment of parenting, and I shouted too. Very unlike me.

My other DC help plenty, mainly when asked, though they do it.

How can I get control of this please? I'm very aware that they are an adult now really, and so need to be treated as such.

I would definitely stop doing their laundry. If he wants to be treated as an adult, first he needs to behave like one. That includes taking five minutes to appreciate his clean, folded laundry and put it away properly. A friends son is getting divorced as his wife is sick of his slovenliness

Maybe a heart-to -heart would help, it's easier to be tidy if you form good habits early. But you weren't wrong to lose it.

I haven't time for a detailed reply right now, currently cooking dinner.

Let them keep their room how they like, and stop doing stuff for them. I was at uni at 18 and tbh that first year in halls we were all pretty minging, I don't think dusting ever happened. Ever.
