To feel a bit annoyed about dp new YouTube obsession?

For context I've been a fan of ASMR for about a year. I've tried to get dp to listen/watch but he just wouldn't give it a chance. Said it was stupid and annoying.

Anyway, last week a recommendation came up on his YouTube. The thumbnail was of a young, pretty woman with a revealing top on. Dp joked and said ' oh maybe I will watch ASMR vids now' .

He watched it and said he actually really enjoyed it. Found it very relaxing.

Now he watches it all the time. He's subscribed to 4 ASMR channels all young, pretty women who look similar.

He joked that one of them looked like me when I was younger Thanks for that!

He still won't listen to my favorite ones even though the sounds are better than on his videos.

Would this annoy you or am I being stupid to feel annoyed?

Unfortunately the ASMR market has been overwhelmed with sexualized content these days. That's not what it's about but I can see why some women have jumped on board for an easy buck - they usually have only fans or equivalent accounts for the really dirty stuff...

With the exception of one person, I can't tolerate male asmr. Gives me the creeps. But all my favourite female channels are fully clothed, don't lick my ears or make kissing sounds, don't pretend to be my girlfriend and don't "rub their clothes"...

I hate that people who don't know what it is are greeted with cleavage when they search the term. It's not about sex

It's about crinkly book jackets, weekly eye tests and cooking sashions.

Not much you can do about your fella, seeing as you're the one who suggested it. I never discuss my habit with other people

Is he trying to wind you up for going on about what he should be watching all the time?

I made a different but similar error of judgement myself.

I showed DH some YouTube creator's videos that I enjoyed but forgot we have very similar tastes. He bloody loved them and now I have to wait for him to join me or watch/listen to everything twice.

Keep your YouTubing to yourself if you want to do it in peace is what I say.

Yeah you've just given him permission to be a perv, can you watch them together...that might put him off

Do you like watching / listening to male ASMR channels but are upset that your dp likes female ones? YABU
